We returned home today from our first stay at CSR. We were very happy with the resort. It was beautiful!
We requested connecting rooms, renovated rooms, and ground floor. We got all of our requests...we were in Casitas 4. I loved the look of the rooms and the fresh white bedding. But what I REALLY loved was the fact that the pack-n-play fit easily in the vanity area and the privacy doors gave us a "mini-suite". Can't overstate how much of a sanity saver that was to give the baby his own space and we could still watch TV & hang out in the room after he was down.
The walk to El Centro wasn't bad, though the Dig Site was a bit of a hike. If we were to stay at CSR again I would likely ask for a higher-number Cabana just to be closer to the pool. But I did like that ours was the first bus stop so were guaranteed seats to the parks, and were dropped off "home" first.
We ate frequently at the Pepper Market and I have to say that if you are using the quick-service dining plan, then CSR is the best place to stay! I loved all of the variety offered there and what a deal! We were getting $15-20 entrees, plus specialty bakery desserts and a drink for a quick service credit. I'm not sure I'll ever be hungry again after this stay!
The resort airline check-in went smoothly and apparently Disney and United Airlines have some kind of deal worked out and passengers don't have to pay the checked luggage fee! This saved us $30

The only negative thing I have to mention is a bit of a fluke and not likely to happen again...but one night during our stay, at 9:20pm an incredibly loud noise woke me and the kids up. I thought the ceiling was caving in all around us! Turns out that the room directly above us had a problem with their toilet and a worker was using an electric hand-saw to fix it. The front desk received many complaints and my husband was assured that it was straightened out, but it continued to be used again and again for the next 15-20 minutes. I know this might not seem like that big of a deal, but I had just spent 36 hours awake with my son in the ER and then admitted to the pediatric ICU (our vacation nightmare), and we all really needed the rest.
But back to the positives, we really enjoyed this resort and I would have no problem recommending it!
ps-- One other thing that we really appreciated-- when my son was discharged from the hospital (it was in downtown Orlando), we had to take a cab home since we had no transportation and had gotten there via ambulance. The front desk at CSR reimbursed us for the $60 cab fare; it was a very nice touch.
