Buzz, this is an EXCELLENT thread. Thanks for the hard work you put into it.

CSR is my favorite resort at WDW. It's so close to everything and the pool is really amazing. We're headed back there in September for our 3rd stay.

I think I remember reading something on here about an extra charge if I send a package to CSR to myself. Please refresh my memory. I would be sending it through the USPS if that makes a differance. :)

Just returned from CSR today after a nice week's stay. This was my second time there. While I intend to write a full TR (will post link when started), I just wanted to say that everything was good as ever at CSR. We stayed in a nice renovated room in 8A, near the Dig site pool. Buses were excellent, staff friendly. Nothing really negative to say!

It appears that Casitas 5 might be getting its renovation right now. I noticed white papers stuck to the windows on some of the top floors and construction type trucks in the parking lot the other day.

More to come soon!! I am too tired! lol.

We just got back from CSR on Wed. So we were right next door to you for part of the week (we were in 8B) We loved the location. I know what you mean about being tired, I'm still recovering. :) Glad you had a good stay too!

They have towels at the pool. But if you go to the quiet pool, you need to take yours from your room.

Thanks!! I thought I had heard that this was one thing that is different from the Value resorts.

Another question...do Disers decorate their windows at CSR? We always do when we stay at Pop. Nothing crazy just some red, white, black and lime green Mickey heads from Home Depot with my screen name on them.

So I just did our online check in but there was no place for room requests. Well there was but it was only check boxes for requesting a pack and play or a fridge. No space for location requests. Was this the case for anybody else? I requested what I wanted with CRO when I booked, so should I still send in a faxed request? When should I send that?

I've seen several rooms throughout my morning deliveries that are decorated. Some are DISers and some are not. It's fun to turn the corner and see a nicely decorated room.

Yes, you would pay an extra charge if you send a package to yourself at Coronado.
I can't remember what the charge is, because a new company is running the business center.

It doesn't hurt to send a fax. Send it about 3 days before your arrival as that's when we start assigning rooms. The fax number is 407-939-1001.

I'll be leaving early, early, early Tuesday morning for my 2nd trip to WDW but 1st staying at CSR. I just wanted to thank all of you who have posted information in this thread as well as all the gorgeous photos of the resort and your trip reports. It's all been incredibly helpful to me in my planning process. I'll be sure to do the same when I get back.

I'm interested to know too! When will the Ranchos be refurbished?! Planning a trip for Dec!

anyone have a pic of what the newly refurbished rooms in the casitas look like?

We'll be staying at CSR for our arrival night on our June trip. Our flight gets in around 11 am and we are using ME. Is there any chance our room would be ready in the early afternoon? I don't expect that it would be ready at noon but 2 pm would be perfect. We plan to get some lunch that day and hang out by the pool. Just enjoy the resort a little since we are only there for one day. We have reservations at CRT at 4 pm and would really like to freshen up before then.

If we can't get into our room, is there another place we can shower and change? A place with a hair dryer would also be a huge plus but I could make do without if necessary.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Yeay! Can anyone tell me how many buildings or whatever are done with refurb? Also, does anyone know how many building are left to be redone?? Thanks!

This should answer your question...:thumbsup2

Mark, what am I going to do with you? Have you NOT been paying attention? Too much time thinking about FOOD!

All of the Cabanas are done.

Ranchos 6A and 6B are done (this leaves 7A and 7B).

Casitas 1, 2 and 3's fourth floors are done; all of Casitas 4 is done (this leaves the remaining floors of 1, 2 and 3 and Casitas 5 which is next to be started).

All of the rehab should be done by October 09. You are going in September so it should be more than 3/4 of the way done by then.

All sections are quiet. Ranchos are REALLY quiet because they are secluded...so I'm told.

Now, next time, pay attention in class! :rotfl2:

room could be ready at noon, depends on how full the resort was the night before. it's like that at any hotel, so chances are 50/50 if your room is gonna be ready. stayed at disney properties before and sometimes they have a room ready and sometimes have to wait till 3.

as for a place to change clothes/shower i really don't know.

The CSR has only one sink, but lots of counter space. There is a coatrack.

Here are a couple of pictures of the newly renovated rooms. From what I understand all the rooms are the same no matter what building you are in:thumbsup2

Thank you, those rooms look very nice and I like them much better then the old rooms.

Yeah I think all the rooms are the same. After looking at those pics, I sure do miss it!

We arrived shortly after 2pm and our room was ready so like another poster said, you got 50/50 odds on that one!

I LOVED the H20 products but why didn't I get a toothbrush? LOL
