Hi everyone I just got back from my CSR stay 4/7-4/14.I loved the resort it was my first time there.I loved all the food at the pepper market,Cafe rx,and loved the maya grill. The service was great and the staff was terrific.I had two renovated connecting rooms which were beautiful and slept great on the queen beds.My only complaints would be mouse-keeping and my requests.I did not get any animal towels for the kids and the beds were never made as nice as when we first arrived. They looked like someone slept on top of them and they where not tucked in.The furniture was never cleaned nor were the bathroom counters.I tipped really well everyday too.I stayed at ranchos 6A I requested 9B cabanas 3 months ago when I originally made my reservations so I was a little disappointed at that.Online check in did not save us any time so don't bother. My Garden grocery delivery went smoothly bell services kept it nice and cold in there refrigerator , My orlando stroller rental was waiting in bell services and the box I shipped down was also waiting for me in the business center.Everything went according to plan.

I thought the landscaping and the peacefulness was wonderful after a day at the parks it was a God send.I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.I did not see glen the alligator and we tried really hard to find him.

All in all we loved our time at the resort.:yay:

Thanks for your report. I will address the towel animals and the fact you did not get Cabanas 9B. First, the towel animals are not a guarantee at any resort. Some mouskeepers do not know how to make them. This is just something special that happens--there is never a guarantee. As for 9B, it could be that there was a convention going on while you were there and if that was the case you would not get Cabanas 9B as it is reserved for convention guests because of the Club Service offered there for them.

I hope you called the front desk or went to the front desk or called mousekeeping and complained. There is no excuse for not dusting the furniture or the bathroom counter.

I concur. The pressed pot Kona coffee at the Poly is so good. I did not try the coffee in the room either. More of a reason to head over to the Pepper Market to use my refillable mug. :drinking1

And that is why we love CSR's refillable mug. It is bigger than the others and holds more coffee--which DH loves. The coffee is pretty darn good at the Pepper Market and there cappucinos, while not Starbucks, aren't bad either. ;)

Sorry to hear about Mousekeeping. I did find the furniture in the room dusty the day we checked in. I wiped down all the counters and the following day I noticed they were dusty again. It dawned on me that the Duvets are down or goose feather so when mousekeeping fixes the bed, the feather dust goes all over the place. Glad you had a great trip though.

Besides the great size :thumbsup2...We love CSR refillable mugs because they are the only ones still unique to the resort...not crazy about the generic mugs of the last couple of years - we don't get why guiests like those mugs.:confused3

;)

I took my refillable mug to work and use it all day long. Too bad that it does not fit in my cars cup holder. But you are 100 percent correct about then being bigger than the others.

Another renovation question...

I'm thinking that Casita's 3 or 4 might be the best for us, but I can't remember if the renovation is done on 4 and 5, not (or barely) started, or what. I know that Casita 1, 2, and 3 has the 4th floor done. I'm hoping that we get either 3 or 4 because I would be completely thrilled with either a lake view or the view of the other Casita! Do you know how long it took to decide what we wanted?

As of now, only the fourth floor of Castias 1, 2 and 3 are complete as you indicated. They started on Casitas 4 about two weeks ago. JamesLynn says it take about a month or so to do a building. I would keep checking back here as JamesLynn or I try to update when a building is done. Here's some pixiedust:pixiedust:that you get the section you want.

Cool! I've been lurking for a few months getting ready for our May trip & loved your TR! This is only my second post so I had to give the congrats on the 400!
PS - I have no idea if the Quote thing is going to work:confused3

Moe

Well the quoting worked! Thanks for reading my TR:goodvibes I was a lurker for about 6 months before I made my 1st post. There is great people on this site with great info. We expect to hear about your trip when you get back! And don't be a stranger.. post away!!!:)

First, congratulations on the new baby! The convention people are put in different parts of the resort...depending on how big the convention is. They are often in the Cabanas and Casitas 1 and 2 and then also the Ranchos if a really large convention. I would request the Cabanas as you mentioned and I would let them know that you are pregnant and it would be beneficial to you to be close to the convention center. Casitas 1 is right next to the convention center but that might not be as quiet as the Cabanas section (we've done Casitas 3, 4 and 5 and never had an issue with noise). The Ranchos, which we've never stayed in, are supposedly very quiet...but then they are also the farthest from everything.

Any other questions, ask away and we'll get back to you or send me a PM if you want.

Thanks Kathy! It should be interesting to experience WDW pregnant. If you'd told my teenage self that in 20 years I'd be in the MK, pregnant and with a three-year-old, I don't think I'd have quite believed it.

Cabanas sounds like our best bet. I don't think it's a particularly large conference group, I'm guessing maybe 150 max (it's a writers conference). It's not on any of the schedules . . . I should add it.

I am packed and ready and will be leaving in the morning. We are so excited for our first trip to CSR. Thanks to everyone for answering my questions. I will give an update when we return. :yay:

28 days until the kids and I check into CSR while DH kayaks with snakes and alligators! We can't wait!

I requested cabanas to be near the Dig Site, but I'd be happy with any renovated room so I can get ready while the kids keep sleeping. I'd be happy with a non-renovated room, too, just to be back at CSR!

Thanks for the great job on the thread, KatMark!

And let the countdown begin!:banana::banana:

JamesLynn,

Do you know when Casitas 3 will go down for renovations?

It seems that Casitas 4 will be completed by the end of April. Would Casitas 3 be the next in line? I'm arriving May 30th and my favorite locations are Casitas 1 and 3. Getting a renovated room would be nice but location is more important. Plus I can always request 4th floor and hope for the best :thumbsup2

We just got back from a lovely stay at CBR and are already planning our next trip. :cool1: I am thinking about trying CSR. DH wants to stay at CBR again but I know he'll love the theming of CSR.

Is there a separate kiddie pool?? If I request the Cabana's to be closer to the pool will I be screwed with an overly packed bus since that is stop 4 going to the theme parks?? From the furthest point of everything how long is the walk??

You added after I posted.

You could also request Ranchos which is close to the Dig Site Pool (I'm copying what building is closest to what at the bottom of this response). We don't use the buses, but my understanding is that there is very seldom "standing room" only and people usually get a seat. I believe the CBR is larger than the CSR and I do not think you will find any distance that long. I timed it last year and it took me 20 minutes to walk from Casitas 3 all the way around the resort and back to Casitas 3. Doing this, I passed the Ranchos, the main pool, the Cabanas and the food court. We normally stay in Casitas 4 or 5, and it takes me about five minutes to walk to the main building and about eight minute to walk to the main pool.

I'm glad you had a great stay at the CBR. If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is exceptional. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both are close to bus stop #2.

For “leisure guests with children” here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the “Dig Site”. Leisure guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the buses twice a day (at least) and the pool often when they are at the resort.

For adults or large families who wish to be close to a park bus stop and to a “quieter pool” but are not interested in the theme pool, building 7a is great and has close proximity to parking.

Building 2 also is close to parking and usually one of the quietest buildings, especially from the 4th floor. The fourth floor of building actually includes part of the upper floors of building 3 and has easy access to the convention center by way of the elevator courtyard of building 1 (especially in a rainstorm).

In other words, there is no “best location for everyone”. Each building has its own plusses and minuses. The cast members will be happy to guide you into the building that fits your needs best……..if you let them know what those needs and expectations may be.

Also, for a reality check…….when there is a large convention……not everyone is going to get a room next to the convention center. In fact, most of the rooming blocks are set up by the group having the convention long before any of the convention guests arrive…… Sometimes, there is little cast member latitude on changing those assignments.

As always, if there are special needs that must be addressed, fax the resort a week before arrival. Be sure you are faxing to the resort and not to Walt Disney Travel Company, their booking agency. The resort cast is best able to accommodate special needs. Often guests call the reservation desk with these requests and do not understand that this is not the resort; but a central reservation desk for ALL of Walt Disney World. The fax number is available by calling Walt Disney World information and asking for the front desk operations fax number.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above (9a has a quiet pool).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Yes, there is. Here is a link with pictures of the Dig Site Pool, kiddie pool and playground. The first picture on Page 2 is the kiddie pool...minus the fish (they removed them a while ago):

Oh my gosh, those fish are fabulous!! Sophia would have loved those...wonder why the fish were removed. Maybe a safety hazard for little ones? Don't see how, but what do I know? :upsidedow

DH and I will arrive at the beautiful CSR in a little over a week. It is our first visit to this resort and we are more than excited about it!

It is just the two of us and we will be celebrating our anniversary on this trip.
We want a room that is quiet and secluded and romantic.
We are not concerned with the bus stops or with being close to the main buildings.
We do currently have a King Room with a note on our Resy that its our anniversary.

Should I still fax a room request to specify that we want a quiet and secluded room for our anny?
Should we request one close to the quiet pool? Or at least a room NOT overlooking a parking lot...
I also want to request a room that is renovated - but the Casitas 4 and 5 are not for the most part renovated yet.
Do you experts have any suggestions for us?
Or should I just not send a request at all and happily accept whatever room we get? :goodvibes (which is what we've always done!)

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I've followed it for a while and have taken lots of useful information from it!! You guys are great! :thumbsup2
