Thanks KatMark! I do have follow-up questions:

Would you happen to know if there's valet at the main building?
Good questioin...never noticed as we don't use it.

Do people use the Disney park buses to get around inside the resort, or is that too impractical with the waiting times? I have talked to people who have gotten on the bus at the first stop, Stop 2, and take it to Stop 1, which is El Centro (registration, shop, restaurants), etc. if they didn't feel like taking the walk. To me, I could have walked there faster than walking to the bus stop and waiting for the bus. But that's just me. As I said, DH and I enjoy walking (the only kind of exercise you'll see me doing much of), so we never bother with the buses or shuttle.

Also, when you check in, will they ride you to your room with your luggage, or do you need to get there on your own?
Yes, if you ask, they will take you to your room on the shuttle...I've seen it numerous times. We never use that as we rent a car and park by our building and bring in our own luggage. But I have seen them do it on a number of occasions.

Here you go.

I'm preparing and I have a bunch of questions I'm hoping you can help with:

1. Do all the guest buildings have elevators? I read that they did, but I just called the resort and they said the Cabanas are two floors with no elevators. Are they right? Do any of the other areas not have elevators?

We stayed on the second floor in March in Cabanas 8A. Our building had an elevator.... I would assume that if 1 cabanas had one then all the cabanas would have 1.

We loved CSR. Enjoy your stay!!!!!:cool1:

I would think you're right about that! Thanks for the info. I believe the Cabanas have two floors - is that correct? Some of the other buildings look really tall.

The Cabanas are two stories; Ranchos are three stories and the Casitas are three or four stories--depending on which one you are in.

I read that the Ranchos were two or three stories - is that wrong? I personally would prefer a lower floor.

Would you happen to know if internet in the rooms is wireless?

Yes, the Ranchos are 2 or 3 stories.

Yes, there is High Speed Internet Access in the room available for a daily charge. No, I do not know the charge. My DH would kill me if I brought a computer on vacation! :)

The access charge is $11.95 for 24 hours. It was pretty easy to set up (edit - the connection is by cable -- a network cable is kept in a bag in the "closet" area. I believe there is wireless near the convention area). I took a laptop so we could download and look at pictures each day. We did stay in the Ranchos by the way, building 6A, refurbed room (yay!). We loved the fact that it was close to the main pool.

Ciao!
Curt

If your route takes you down I-75, then onto the Turnpike, take the new exit for Highway 429 - it's a toll road, and it's marked as being "To Disney World," Exit #267A. The toll is only $1 and it really shortens the route. It's WAY faster. You'll take an exit for Disney World (Hartzog Road, #8). Then, you turn left at the end of the exit ramp and that road becomes Western Way. Follow that road through the Disney gates and it dead-ends right next to CSR. You'll turn L onto Buena Vista Dr and L at the first light, into CSR. It's SO EASY.

Thank You so much!

for our August trip.:banana::banana::banana:

I had made a mistake online and when I called to correct it the very sweet CM recommend Cabanas 9A or 9B for us. It was right there on the reservation.

:cheer2:

It's $9.95 not $11.95.

You can access wireless at any of these locations at a $9.95 charge:
Hotel Lobby
Dig Site
Durango Foyer
Fiesta Foyer
Yucatan Foyer
Laguna Bar

Do you think Casitas 4 will be done by May 10th? I am hoping so. If not do you think 2 or 3 would be better. I am thinking 3, but I have not been to CSR before.

I would think so. It usually only takes a little less than a month to refurb a building. As the refurb just started, I can't really guess exactly how long it's going to take.

Casitas 2 and 3 are also very nice. Keep in mind that only the 4th floor of those buildings have been rehabbed.

Casitas 3 sits on the lake side, while Casitas 2 sits behind it.
I prefer 3 because I think that it had better standard views than 2.

5. I read somewhere on the boards that the internal transportation with the golf carts is going to be taken away. Is that really true, and if so, do you know when that will be?

Thanks a bunch!!!!!

To answer questions 1 & 5.

1. There are elevators in all of the buildings.

5. The golf carts have been gone for over a month now.

HEY !! I was at Monroeville Mall yesterday. It is freezing here and it is already beginning to snow. Yuk.

We had four inches of snow last night in Chicago. I've had it with winter. Where is Spring already???????????? :confused3

Wow...four inches of snow. I can't believe this is supposed to be Spring. It's making me even more anxious to get on that plane to Orlando. Only 1 week and 5 days left until we go. We are staying at CSR so if anyone has any questions you need answers to, let me know and I will try to find them for you while we are there.

Ranchos are 3 stories.
Casitas are 4 stories.
Cabanas are 2 stories.

Thanks JamesLynn - Do you work there? That would be a nice place to go every day!

So there are not any 2 story areas in the ranchos or 3 story areas in the casitas?

Do you happen to know if they'll still valet park for people with handicapped parking? I know they'll do that at Port Orleans even though there's no valet.

Would you know if all the renovated rooms will have the exact same decorations? Or will they be different to go with the section they're in?

Also I was wondering if there's still an arcade in the main building. When I called to ask another question today they mentioned that there's only one arcade - the Iguana. Everything I've read says there's another one called Jumping Beans.
