BRAND NEW CORONADO SPRINGS FAQ THREAD w/ PHOTOS (PART IV)

My parents and I have decided to take a short trip to Disney (4 nights) at the end of August - it'll be a non-park trip as we want to take the Backstage Magic Tour, see La Nouba, enjoy some Disney food and just relax at a nice hotel. We've decided that it's time we gave CSR a try (it's made it to our short list so many times on past trips)!

We're hoping to get 2 newly renovated king bed rooms that are close together. Is this possible? I know we can actually reserve the king rooms to guarantee them - and that by linking our ressies we increase our chances of being placed close together. What I'm wondering is whether any of the king rooms are in fact grouped together say within a few doors of each other on the same floor? And if so, are there any in a section that has been (or likely will be) refurbished by the end of August?

I'm calling tomorrow to book and hoping that there are still rooms to which I will be able to apply my 40% PIN code. (It expires March 31st ... I've had it for months, but up until a few days ago, we weren't planning on a Disney Trip this year ... I should have known better!)

The CSR boards have been quiet the last dew days:rolleyes1

I think Buzz, JamesLynn, and KatMark have answered every possible CSR question!!

Maybe someone could delete the CSR threads and start over!:lmao:

Oh, you are a riot, Tim! And here I named your precious Juliana the official CSR Poster Girl! Actually, I'm thinking of starting it over at some point...when I have the time.

There are king rooms in every section (and they are adding 100 new king rooms as they are rehabbing). Now, how they are set up, I couldn't really tell you. By the end of August, they should be more than 3/4 of the way done with the rehab since it is scheduled to be completed October 09. I think if you link your ressies together you should be fine.

Who should we contact to get Juliana (and us!) down to CSR to have her formal pictures done? Websites, mailers, postcards, etc.... she's only gonna be 3 for 351 more days!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Is that all...just 351 more days? My time flies! :lmao: And, I hate to break it to you but, before you know it, she'll be 18! I have two of my own (although boys) who are now 23 and almost 21.

I think I'm dreading the day.... I wonder if 12-17 is any worse than 18, or if they all are hard. I'll be 46 when she turns 18... maybe i'll be crying because I will be getting old too!!!!!!!!!!!:scared:

Please...my baby will be 21 in two months and I'll be 51-1/2! 46 is still young! :rotfl:

Our oldest is making his first trip to Disney...without us. He is taking his 13-year old baseball team that he coaches to play in the Disney Salute to Baseball Tournament. Unfortunately, he is not able to stay at the CSR as it was not one of the two resorts offered. He is staying at the CBR (not his choice...believe me--his girlfriend picked it). Seems weird that I have a child going to Disney WITHOUT ME!

LOLOL :lmao: good thing no one is at my house rite now. You had me Laughing Out Loud with that one!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

I've done that at the office...I've burst out in laughter and people look at me like I am nuts (well, I am...but they don't need to know that).

Any more pics to post on the photo thread?

I'm usually home with Juliana during the day so she doesn't mind if I start laughing. She's sleeping rite now so I have usually 1 1/2 hours to recharge!

I'll have to go through and see what is already on there. I have lots of pics. If I see any more good ones I'll post them.:goodvibes

Well, he could send you a real Coconut postcard!!!

Thankfully, my adult children never went to DL or WDW without me...think they knew their poor mother would be crushed and they didn't want to deal with the guilt. :thumbsup2

In reality, they came to me at ages 13 and 14 1/2, asking if we could "have a talk about our summer vacation"..."sure" say I, thinking wonder if they'll want Poly or Cr this yr....when they said, "Mom, we're sorry, but we're Mickey'ed out". What??? Did I hear them right? So, being the wise mother I said, "Okay, how about we go to SO CA?" They leaped for joy....we stayed at a hotel a short walk from the entrance (we had to cross the street at the right on the corner of our hotel) 3 yrs in a row...but we did make day trips to La, SD, Six Flags etc.

Ah, yes, mother's 'wisdom' wins out. :thumbsup2

I went back on the CSR photo thread. I was away when what ever happened to Buzz happened. :confused3

I feel bad (i don't know what happened). He is probably the main reason why I ended up booking CSR. I hope it gets resolved.:confused3

HI all,

What a wonderful thread with so much info!! I think I'm on info overload right about now!! Anyway, I read many pages here but I decided to just post this & hope someone can give me some direction!!

My Clients are booked with a Waterview. I was going to send over a room request for the Cabana 8a or 8b but which buildings have the best waterviews? Casita??? Cabana?? Help!!! They also have 2 children 8 & 5 yrs old so I was hoping that they could get close to the main pool, dig site, & waterviews, etc.

What building would you request for this???

Thanks so much in advance!!
Sue

I'll be checking in at the online check-in's tomorrow at this time. Can't wait!:cheer2:

I'll give a brief CSR update and review when I get back. :goodvibes

Just got back from a March 14-21 first-time stay at the Coronado Springs Resort and was VERY impressed! We have stayed at deluxe resorts (AKL, Contemporary and the Dolphin) as well as a great moderate (POFQ) but have a new favorite in the CSR.

First, the atmosphere is fantastic. The landscaping it incredible and the newly renovated rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The new bedding is on par with many upscale hotels and the sliding wood doors leading to the vanity area is great addition for a family of four. The deciding factor for us choosing the CSR was that all rooms now have queen beds. We stayed in room #8131 in the Cabana section and thought the location was perfect. We were just steps away from bus stop #4, the Dig Site (great pool!) and the bridge over to the El Centro. We had a water view room which I believe is important as I don’t want to look out my door and windows at a parking lot. The rooms were very quiet even if there were only two floors to these buildings.

Bus service was pretty good in that we only had to wait more than 10 minutes 2 or 3 times for the whole week. Café Rix was great for some fantastic breakfast pastries and cookies. We did not eat at the Pepper Market as we really never had a good opportunity and we were not anxious to try it after reading the posts on this site and hearing some comments from guests that ate there while we were there.

The CSR staff was very friendly and helpful although there were a few times (at the registration desk and Café Rix) where we were at a loss since we did not speak Chinese or Spanish. There was a very small convention and a large convention (Children’s Miracle Network) while we were there but never felt we were at a convention resort.

On a scale of one to ten, I would give it a solid nine (with a 10 being our stay at the Dolphin in a newly renovated room {with the Starwood “Heavenly Beds”}, with a balcony overlooking Epcot, with access to the Concierge floor and all for the Teacher discount of $119 a night back in 2003!!).

If you are trying to decide on a moderate resort at WDW or just want a great resort, try the Coronado Springs Resort and you will not be disappointed!!!

We (Me DW DD2) were there 3/1-3/8 in Cabanas 8B. It was a great location. Close to bus stop #4, close to El Centro, and close to the dig site. Cabanas 8A would be closer to the Dig Site but a water view room from that angle might not be as good as the water view room in 8B. Look in the Resort Photos section and you can see pics from the different buildings. You can go wrong with either of these buildings!

This would be a view from 8B (camera was zoomed in.. there is a small lake on the left)

This would be a view from 8A (with more lake to the right)
