DD is a sophomore and yesterday her CG teacher had another teacher in the class...they approached DD and told her they would like to enter one of her Digital art pieces into the Scholastic award contest! She had to hurry and get it prepared, but today off it went to the contest. She decided long ago to go to college for computer Animation and all of her teachers so far have told her she has made the right choice...so yay for her! I have not even seen this piece so I am dying to hear what happens. Just having a piece chosen looks good on college applications, so woo-hoo! Who knows if it will place, but so far she has enjoyed the experience!
O.K. Bragging over, but when your kids graduating class is over 1,000, it's nice ot be recognized!

...Fulll Sail in Winter Park area or Collins College (AZ State) in Phoenix...but we'll see. We are in Chicago and Columbia and Art Institute right here, but both are not the Animation program she is after. Looking for BFA. Sadly, none of the Universities we have looked at have a AN. Program that is anywhere near decent enoughto compete with the specialized colleges...but by attending DMAC...then it is not including gen eds, in case Animation is obsolete in 10 years...now what....so she may obtain her associates degree while taking a course or 2 at AI....and then switch over to DMAC. The 4 year program is completed in 3 years there...but no campus housing...aprtment living, need a car...so that is a major concern. To think DH had a job offer 10 miles from the college back last spring...uggghhhhh!
