Braces

Ahh, I have to go in 2 hours and get my braces done! I really don't want to go, but it's sort of exciting in a way. I'm only getting my top braces today though, because they don't want you to be so sore all day and so forth. I'm thinking a light color to start like baby blue/baby pink or something. I'll save darker colors for later, lol. I have to go at about 10:50 to leave, my appointment is at 11 for an hour. So wish me some luck, lol. I can no longer eat gum, licorrace, popcorn, gummi bears, well you get the point. Anyways, wish me some luck...

2 of my friends have braces and they said it is kinda painful in the beginning. it helps to eat softer foods. good luck

Good luck! I had braces twice lol. It'll definitely be painful at first. I wasn't supposed to eat all those foods but did anyway lol

Good luck! I ate all those foods in moderation and came out ok. It does hurt at first but my lovely top tip is to eat an ice pop (do you guys call them popsicles?). I always found it helped anyway.

Good Luck. I was meant to get braces in November (last yr), but they didn't come back to me. So know if I want them I have to pay over £1000!!

that sucks..braces arent fun. For like a day it'll hurt to eat anything hard. But then it'll be ok. And def. dont worry about not eating the foods you arnt supposed to...please i swear ortho's just make the crap up. My ortho said i couldnt eat dorito's lol...yeah right. I guess just eat them im moderation.

GOOD LUCK!! yeah some of the stuff they tell you is like totally off...just try to follow the rules as best as you can and you'll have them off in no time!

I GOT MY BRACES OFF 2DAY!! I haven't been this happy in a LONG time! but my retainers hurt already

I have a permanent bottom retainer behind my teeth and I have a clear top retainer! YAY! so technically, no one can see either of my retainers!

I had braces for two and a half years. They really onli hurt for the first few dayz. You get used to them quickly. And ur right, they are kinda exciting when u first get them on! The results are well worth the wait. As far as the food, i ate everything except gum. So don't worry about it, just be careful and good luck!

I have braces right now i have my bottom on first! They arent that bad but it helps to eat soft food after they get tightene....I have watermelon colors on mine(pink and also green!!! I also eat popcorn and gummi things hard candies and licourice it isnt that bad!

good luck! they really aren't that bad; i've had them on for a little over 2 months now. for the first couple days they'll hurt, and they also hurt a little after u get them tightened. but overall they arent that bad. and just think, you'll have beautiful teeth when u get them off!!

good luck! it will hurt at first, but it goes away pretty quickly, and you get used to the braces quickly as well. and definitely eating cold stuff is good...it always helped take the pain away!

Thanks, everyone, for telling me about braces! They're not so bad, actually, I see an improvment already. I do like them a lot, but my mouth is still a little bit sore. The first day my mouth was killing me horribly. The second it was bad too, but then I got good with them. The bad thing is I keep biting the sides of my mouth!
