Bra Shopping is awful

My next purchase of a bra will be an ahhh bra by Rhonda Shear??? or Shearer "They" say its great?? But I will give it a try.:dance3:

If ouhavevan " intimacy" store near you, it's pricy but so worth it. They measure you and help you find a bra. The bra was 90 bucks but I bought some more on Amazon, best bra ever. I also have a small band big cup.

I AGREE AGREE AGREE!! I shopped at Intimacy store a few months back. I bought four bras costing a Disney vacation. However, they were the best bras & money ever spent. French lace, proper fit & looking like I got a **** job. Compliments from all over the place from- did you loose weight? Did you get your ****s done? Did you but new clothes? I strongly suggest making an appointment for a bra fit specialist. It will be the BEST thing you ever to for yourself. No exaggeration. Good luck!

HATE IT. I'm well endowed. Like stupid. I didn't even know they MADE bras in the size I require (after I was fitted two years ago and found i had been wearing the wrong size). Narrow band...HUGE cup. I feel like a freak. Can't shop in lingerie stores or Walmart. Can only shop at some department stores or Fredericks of Hollywood. Can't order online...have to try it on first. It seems the only bras they make for people like me are FULL coverage...so apparently I don't get to be sexy or wear anything with a low neckline. I hate it.

I have a little different problem. I am well-endowed, too, and sales clerks always try to put me in huge cup size. I swear, I could put a small child inside some of them. I like full coverage--I can't stand jiggly cleavage and I am very modest (I don't even wear sleeveless!) If I wore a push up bra, I'd look like I had Madonna's Cones of Death. The only place I can find the full coverage bras that fit me well and keep the girls under control is Lane Bryant. They have exactly ONE line that works and I have a bra in every color they sell.

So I found instructions online to measure myself, did it three times just to be sure. Couldn't find a bra in the new size in any store so I ordered it online...got it and it was ENORMOUS! My sister told me to just "go try some on" but the problem is that I don't know where to start! Obviously what I thought was the correct size is wrong but when I measure, I'm not getting the correct size either. It's so frustrating! Not to mention that bras aren't cheap!! :faint:

BTDT!! About 6 months ago I got determined. Here is what helped me the most- find a basic, no frills kind of bra and then try every size combination that is one up from your current cup size, one down from your cup size, one up from your current band size and one down from your current band size.

I ended up going down a band size and up a cup size- the problem is that when a bra feels uncomfortable, most of us will go up a band size, thinking it will feel better. What really happens is that you are carrying all the weight on a band that isn't snug enough to hold you up and that is uncomfortable too.

Once you think you've got a size that feels ok- check out a couple of different styles. I ended up going without an underwire because they just didn't fit me right. I found a style that fits high up under my armpit and that extra support helps keep me contained.

My biggest problem is now that the ladies are in a proper bra and in the correct location, I put on some of my work blouses and find that I have inappropriate office cleavage.

My current bras are Wacoal. Got them in Dillards but I'm pretty sure you can find them in Belk or Macys. The other problem I have with the full cover bras is they sometimes give me pointy ****s...like whatsername from Mad Men.

Lane Bryant is where I go now. They at least have some cute bras! It was just frustrating to have her put me in a big old bra when I knew my ****s weren't that big. My current size is a bit small, but its because I've put on a few lbs. The next size up looks massive, and I could stuff it.

I did purchase one bra from there that makes me chuckle. Its a plunge, padded, push up. I'm already massive, but this sucker has so much padding like a VS bra at the bottom...I like that it makes me feel a little better.

I texted my mom a picture of the bra and she laughed. Can't understand the bow on the bra!

Have you ever been to a Soma? My go to place for bras. They do a great job with fitting, lots of styles, great sales every now and then.

I have the same issue. Small band size, larger cup. You have to go European. Maybe they are a little more expensive, but they make very pretty styles with matching panties. I, personally, like Freya. I also buy their swimsuits. They are bra-sized and have great support. This is where I order from:

Just found Soma recently and LOVE it! That said I had to try on every style in the store in my size to find the one that fit properly. So even if you know your size, it doesn't mean the bra will fit.

My daughters both have small bands and larger cups. I usually buy them online at bare necessities. In a store we might find one or two but online had lots of choices.

I am a larger size and am frustrated with the lack of pretty bras. I can never find one that doesn't show at the sides or top of my summer shirts. I am not talking a low cut shirt but on a square neckline you can always see the tops of the cups.

I hate it too! I've known for a while that I'm not wearing the correct size so I went to actually get measured. At the first store, I couldn't find an associate to help me....at the 2nd store, she measured me with the wrong size bra on, over my shirt, and only took one measurement all the way around. Then she told me I was a cup size smaller than what I'm currently wearing and I went in knowing that I needed to go bigger, not smaller!

Bra sizing instructions always start with "While wearing a well fitting bra....". Uh, if I had a well fitting bra, wouldn't I know what size I need?

You ladies are cracking me up!!! :rotfl:

I must add though, I am wearing a bra my dd outgrew when she was about 15. (yes, you read that right! :sad2:) It is a mess but it's the only one that fits me correctly. I need to bra shop something pitiful!!!

Same here. I only bought one bra though and got the others on amazon. Prima Donna bras have changed my life!:lmao:

Bra shopping is equivalent to swim suit shopping, or maybe even worse.

THIS!!

I totally agree! I normally love to shop, but ARG, hate shopping for bras & swimsuits!

Jeans would be third on my list with those stupid gaps at the back of the waist...
