Boys clothes

I have been trying to shop for boys clothes for baby. I am having the hardest time getting into it though! Items are not appealing to me, especially the 'newborn' stuff. It all looks the same! And part of the problem is that he will be born in August, but by mid-Spetember/October it can be fall like weather here. Right now he has maybe 6-7 outfits for summer that I have bought new. I had a whole closet full at this stage with Avery. He does have a lot of onsies and sleepers from DD (unisex).

Maybe it is because I had a girl first? My Sister had a boy then a girl and said she finds dressing her DD harder with all of the matching and outfits you have to make.

Anyway, where do you find cute boys clothes that don't look like everything else? I have looked in all of the obvious places-Gap, Gymboree, Old Navy, TCP, Kohl's, Target.

I used to work in infant retail and actually prefered boy clothes. I have a ton of fun buying outfits for my friends. I love Osh Kosh for baby boys, and the Carters and Little Me outfits.

I love Ralph Lauren Polo and Tommy Hilfiger for little boys. Sometimes you can luck out and find this stuff on clearance at TJMaxx or Marshalls.

Love their stuff, and it actually wears like Iron. DS who is 8 now, got 2 one piece playsuits that are currently being worn by the 5th boy cousin right now. They are finally starting to look 'well worn'.

I know exactly what you are going through. It seems like every store or department is mostly filled with cute little girl clothes and only has 2 or 3 racks of boy clothes.

I had some luck at the Children's Place and even Babies R Us.

I LOVE boys clothes. Although, I don't like the "baby" clothes. I got so sick of baby blue by the time my first was a week old. I wouldn't worry about summer clothes Jenn, you'll probably use sleepers mostly. My younger son was a july baby and we keep our house pretty cool, so he was always wearing a sleeper for the first month or two. If we had to go outside, I would put him in a nicer onesie and keep him in the shade.

I buy all of my clothes from Target and Old Navy-- I love their selection. So, I guess we must just have different tastes. My mom frequently buys stuff from the Nautica and Tommy outlet stores and I love all of that stuff too. But, that stuff is too expensive for me to buy all the time.

most of my friends have had boys...I LOVE buying their clothes.

nothing is cuter to me then seeing a little boy in cargo shorts and a button down plaid shirt! I've had the best of luck at Old Navy!

it does seem like there are more "options" for infant girls (dresses or onsies)...with boys you're pretty limited...

It was so hard to dress my son when he was born. There just wasn't a good/cute selection. He's almost 7 and I have noticed that there is a bigger selection now then there was when he was born. I still don't think its that great, I was thrilled when our second child was a girl, I've had too much fun shopping for her. Gymboree is my weakness!!

You might find that once he gets here it will be easier to match outfits to go with is personality. I do like the clothes that Old Navy has, but don't stress out over it. As long as he's fed and has a clean diaper I'm sure he'll be happy.

There are definitely WAY more girls clothes out there than boys clothes. Totally unfair.

99% of my boys' wardrobes come from Old Navy. I love their clothes!! Other places I've had luck are Carters & Osh Kosh.

got a slew of two and three piece outfits for our grandson when he was little. he was born in June and he wore mostly the little diaper sets and then went right into fall clothes

I think boys get jipped when it comes to clothes. Everywhere I go there seems to be 1 rack of boy clothes to 3 racks of girls. I usually try to hit the clearance racks for the next season. My favorite places to shop are Kohl's, JC Penney, Osh Kosh and Carters. Of course I am also a garage sale junkie. I have gotted some jeans for the fall and winter for 50 cents at certain sales.

I actually like shopping for boy's clothes better than girls!! My mother thinks I am crazy though. I find lots of stuff at OshKosh for my son, but you said that didn't work for you. I think for newborn layette type items, you can't beat Carter's. I really like the quality of the fabric for the baby's skin and their designs are very cute.

While expecting I always thought having a girl would be fantastic but I'd either be broke or still wading thru because there was just toooooo much to choose from. I was very happy to have had boys. I agree with Cranky, Little Me, OshKosh, and Carters were my staples. I think Kohl's has a decent baby section. As mine got older, we moved to Land's End and Old Navy but I prefer a baby to look like a baby so didn't buy there until they were a bit bigger.

I was just looking at these! I think I am going to order a couple. They only have one available in the 3-6 month size. But I can get a couple more in the 6-12 month size because it is cold here through May! LOL! Thanks for the recommendation.

I have a hard time buying stuff for the next season because of DD. Finding pants for her is like a treasure hunt! And what seems to fit her the best is Ralph Lauren and Guess. I am at TJ Maxx a lot for these items.

I think all of the baby blue is getting me down. That and I don't think I will need that much summer stuff for him. When do stores start getting in fall clothes?

We shopped a lot in Children's Place, Old Navy and The Gap when my boys were little. Still do, actually.

I get a lot of DS's clothes from Carters.
