Boys character breakfast to start April 1???

I hope this is not an "April Fools" joke, but I just read on Allearsnet that Hollywood & Vine is starting the boys character breakfast on April 1. The man was told by a staff member there that the characters will be Buzz, Woody, Green Soldiers, etc.

I hope this is true because I have 2 boys and I have dragged them to all the princess breakfast so I think it is only fair for them to have their turn.

Has anyone else heard a rumor to that affect. Personally I would like to have a breakfast with the princes' or Hercules, and the Beast. Who else would any of you like to see?

I saw that in the newsletter, too. I sure hope it isn't just a rumor and really does happen.

I called DVC this am and inquired about "new character meal" at Hollywood and Vine. She says nothing has been officially announced. I will try back again in a couple of weeks.

I am not the OP, but I seen this as well. It was in the weekly allears newsletter. It was a tip from a gentelman that was eating there and was told this information by a server. So nothing confirmed

I saw on another thread that someone from WDW dining confirmed it, but they didn't know a start date. I'm would bet money on it. It would be wise for Disney to have it ready before the summer season. They also mentioned something about Buzz's wingspan and were doing something with that (it was rather big).

Are they calling it a "boys" character buffet? If so, that is ridiculous. Girls like Toy Story as much as boys and even though they may say they don't, the boys like the Princesses!

I for one would love something like this - since I have a 5 yo grandson. Not that the princess breakfasts aren't wonderful - and no one says that only girls can attend - but you have to be honest in saying that they were designed more for the little girls to fantasize and dress up.

We did the Donald Breakfastourous (sp?) on our last trip. I can honestly say that this one is a very "general" "welcome all" type breakfast.

But - having said all that - it would be nice to at least "offer" something a little more geared directly for the boys - yet not exclude the girls.

Don't jump to conclusions. That is just how people are referring to it. Nobody said anything about an official name.

I agree with you, but I don't think Disney is calling it a boys character breakfast.

When toy story came out, my DD watched it over and over. One day we watched it 4 times in a row!

I think Disney has gone Princess crazy.

They have 3 Princess meals (5 five if you count lunch and dinner in the castle) and the tea at GF, (do they still have the $$$ tea where each girl gets a doll at the end?) They are about to open a salon in DTD where girls can have their hair and nails done, as well as make- up.

It's about time they do something for the boys.

I don't know if you have young boys or not, but I can surely tell you that my DS(7) would MUCH rather hang out with Buzz and Woody than Cinderella and Snow White! Now for my DS(13)......well that might be a different story!

I have to agree. My son is 14 and he LOVES Jasmine's costume.

Called this morning to see if they were taking ADR's for June yet and they are not. In fact, the CM I spoke with knew nothing about this meal. Wonder if that was really true or just the company line?
