Bound for Home via a ship trip

Day 13 29th September IOA and Universal and Golf

Woke up to heavy rain so we got showered and park ready very slowly in the hopes the rain would stop, it did at 11.30.

We took a river taxi to city walk and it started raining again we had remembered the ponchos this time though Ponchos on we were off to Islands of Adventure

Rain and the Hulk was closed = not very happy Ma we knew it would be closed before we came but ma and scott really like this ride, hopefully the improvements will be good.

The rain was getting heavier so we went to Burger digs, 2 x cheese burgers with bacon and a cheese sauce plus a chicken finger combo $45.17

Rain had stopped so we headed out but not long til ponchos back on , we made it to Forbidden Journey and after storing our bits in the lockers we rode and it was good fun.

We came out and the rain had stopped HOORAY!!
Poseidons had a 20min wait so we carried on to suess landings and rode Cat in the Hat

Back to Poseidons and it still showed 20 mins so we went in, think the wait time is just the walking time around the queue system bit dark in there but we followed the only other 4 people that were going in and were soon on the adventure.

Now we went back to Jurassic park i chose not to ride as i didn't want to get wet, they both insisted i would not get wet but nope i was not riding - good choice me thinks

They rode front row and got soaked LOL so much so they paid for the drying booth

After drying off slightly we headed off to ride Spiderman with the new changes in place they were ok and the ride was still fun.

Next stop was the Hogwarts express our first ride on this and the theming was great and we would definitely ride it again

We got a frozen Butter beer each

It started raining again, we walked to Men in black bought a rather large churro and sat under and umbrella

Whilst sitting here Ma pointed to the bushes by the table and said aww theirs a squirrel in there - it was a rat!! not wanting to cause alarm to the other people sitting down we kept quit and mr Rat went on his way

We rode men in black and Ma won with 404,000 that must have been a lucky rat she saw

She was just a bit happy

We headed towards Transformers

Transformers was very good after which we went towards the exit and got stopped for a survey they only wanted ma's answers it took about 15 mins, we took the river taxi back to the hotel to get dry socks and we attempted to dry our shoes with the in room hair dryer.

We wanted to eat at Margaritaville as each trip we said we would but didn't end up making it mainly because Bubba Gumps draws us in but we had heard of the meal and mini golf so went up to the information kiosk on city walk to ask about it.

$23.95 sounded good to us, you don't have to decide on a restaurant there and then and can play golf before or after dinner, we decided that with how the rain had been on and off all day it would be best to play golf whilst it was dry

We chose the Sci fi golf with the glow in the dark balls and are planning to try the haunted house version on another trip, it was good fun pictures were tricky to get as it was dark.

The food was nice and the entertainment was really good

With full bellys and a blender we walked back to the hotel at around 10pm we stopped at the bar for a nightcap to take back to the room, once we had the drinks we headed to the doors leading to our building and as i reached for the handle a huge frog jumped from the top of the door towards me i am scared of frogs ( no idea why) and shouted, it scared the living daylights out of me and fortunately i was not carrying the drinks i checked every door way from then on.

Day 14 - 30th September - Universal - IOA - CBR

Up around 9am and the maid knocked to ask when we would be checking out ( check out is 11am) we wont be long
Checked out, left bags with luggage services and had to make a couple of calls so took advantage of this beautiful seating area at the hotel

We took the river taxi to City Walk where we entered Universal studios at about 10.45.

Yep you are good to go

We went to Terminator first but it wasn't opening until 11.15 so we took a wander through the shops until it was time to back and watch the show it was "Super"

Monster Cafe was open, it has never been open on our previous visits so we went in for a look

Blues brothers were playing so of course we had to watch and then into Rictor burger for lunch
3 cheese burger platters $46.06

Rode Men in Black again we rode Gringotts with only a 10-15 min wait and this time we were in the front cart which was so much better.

On to Transformers which was good but a family got on with a service dog the poor thing was in the row in front of us and was terrified by the whole thing, i have no idea why the staff didn't say anything, the only good thing was i think the family realised it was not a good idea as they took their glasses off and tried to comfort the dog.

We grabbed a frozen butter beer each $19.14 and joined the queue for Hogwarts express - the only ride to have a shop in the actual queue it was fun and loved that its a different ride each way.

We rode spiderman and went into the shops to buy gifts and left the park at 4.30ish to get the water taxi back to the hotel, we took a cab back to CBR $45 and discovered we had left the "Do not disturb " sign on the door oooops so room had not been cleaned in 3 days, mousekeeping had left clean towels in a bag on the door though.

Showers etc and then over to old port royale for dinner and watched Alice in wonderland on the outdoor screen.

Day 15 - 1st October - Blizzard Beach and MNSSHP - Temp 91

Todays first job was to put some washing on - ooh exciting but better then taking a suitcase of dirty clothes home only 1 1/12 hours to wash and dry so we got ready in between popping back to switch it over and then collect it, then it was time to head for Blizzard Beach it was the first time this water park had been open during our holidays - we always come out around sep/oct time (except for 1 may trip) and it has always been closed so we usually go to Typhoon Lagoon but not this time Blizzard Beach here we come

We got there to discover Summit Plummit and Slush gusher was closed but we went in anyways

First stop to rent some towels from Lottawatta Lodge for $2 each

I don't like water parks really so i found a nice shady spot to relax in whilst Ma and Scott went off to go on Tubbing, tobogganing and lazy river rides

We grabbed lunch, Cheese flatbread, chicken nuggets and shrimp roll all was very nice, we left at 2pm and went back to CBR.

We headed to Magic Kingdom at 3.45 buses to that park were absolutely packed so scott had the idea that we catch a bus to another park and hop on an MK bus from there next bus was Hollywood Studios so we got that one which was empty but when we arrived at HS the queue for the bus to MK was just as big we just made it on to the first bus that came and we were soon on our way.

MK was mega busy and today was so hot, we were funnelled into the park and collected a wristband and bag along the way, we had a 4.45 fast pass for Jungle cruise so made our way to there, a full boat and corny jokes good fun, we went to Columbia harbour house to get a drink as it was so busy and hot.

Next up was our 5.50 fast pass for Pirates the ride changes were good and we all enjoyed it, we headed to Splash next but it was Down and had been for 45mins so we went to the Haunted Mansion and used one of our extra fast passes ( for the bed) we knew we needed to use the asses before 7pm when the party started so we whizzed round the The Little Mermaid just before 7pm and rode- i love this ride

Time for dinner and its our old favourite Columbier Harbour house for shrimp and cobblers

We changed into our Halloween t shirts

We rode Winnie the Pooh and really enjoyed the changes

We rode the People mover did some trick or treating

We rode Buzz then back to Slash which had no wait and as we got off the fireworks started and we had a great view from there, got a drink from Pecos bills and sat people watching for a while, had a look in the pirate shop , did a couple more treat lines and thought about watching the parade but it was 11ish and we were beat and so we left and got on a not too crowded double bus back to home.

Day 14 - 2nd October - Epcot

Ok so today Ma and Scott set a new record and we didn't leave the room until 12.07!!!! i will let them off as its close to the end of the holiday so by the time we got to Epcot it was time for lunch and yes whats that i hear you say?? yes yes you are correct we are off to sunshine seasons again

Fast pass time for Test track and we got best enviro car for the day (so far(

Next up FP time for spaceship earth

We had Figment next but some time to wait so had a wander

It was about 91 today as we headed off around the world starting in Mexico, scott thought we should do the letter of each country in the pictures, i think we may have said NO but that we would take his pictures LOL

We had marked off foods that we wanted to try along the way

We meandered along finding shade, eating snacks and shopping

Cheese bread Brazil

We got dinner in china at 8pmish , just as we finished the rain came down and it was heavy so we spent 20 mins in the china shop round and round and round, it was still raining and you guessed it we didn't fetch our Ponchos! so we headed to the big store to buy our nephew the big Mickey that we had promised him and as it was still raining we made the decision to miss the fireworks
The bus stop was busy but we made it onto the second bus and got changed and watched the fireworks from Old Port Royale with some drinks.

Tomorrow Downtown Disney

Day 15 - 3rd October - Downtown Disney

Our last full day we were very sad, today it was downtown to finish buying gifts as we knew tonight would be spent attempting to squeeze everything into our cases.

We had lunch at ................Bongos! yes i bet you thought i was going to say wolfgangs we ordered and me and Ma popped to the toilets i somehow managed to walk back to the table with my skirt tucked into my knickers i only noticed when i sat down!

The food was very nice, whilst we were eating a small bird flew over and poohed on Ma's ear she put her hand up to wipe it off as she thought it was a bug that had landed on her - i was almost wetting myself with laughter when she looked at what she took off her ear with a puzzled look on her face it took me a couple of minutes to stop and explain.

We went into Disney quest as we knew it was going

We used some more snack credits in goofys and got some frozen drinks and used our counter service credits to get sweets to take home as gifts.

Bus back to CBR where we packed we went over for dinner at 8ish, we played cards at the pool bar and watched the fireworks, chilly night tonight so we got some towels to keep warm.

Tomorrow Downtown and the airport

Day 16 - 4th October - Downtown and Airport

woke just before 9am, no note on the door for magical express so i called and was given 3.55, we pack our last few things and called Bell services 25 minute wait so we waited, cases gone we said goodbye to the table that had not been collected ( in post 1).

Off to the bus stop in the rain, still raining when we arrived at downtown so we ducked into the christmas shop and bought a couple of bits of course

As it was almost 12 we went to Wolfgangs for lunch pizzas all round $62.55 but free on the dining plan
Raining again when we left, into Goofys to use up all of our remaining snack and quick service credits we did it with 3 left over.

We joined the outside queue for Earl of sandwich it was so busy but we used our last 3 credits on some wraps for the airport we had a look in the shops as the sun was trying to come out

Bus back to the resort and the plan had been to take some pictures but it was still drizzlin with rain so we chilled under an umbrella at Martinique

We got changed into our "pane" clothes at custom house and boarded the bus at 3.50 so depressing seeing everyone arriving for their holiday when you are leaving , arrived at airport and there was no queue so checked in super fast, had a look in the shops and it took us 30 mins to go through passport control, once through we went to duty free for some bits and then sat by the gate to eat our wraps

We boarded and took off on time flight had 363 passengers and was Jersey Girl, ma's screen was not working so they gave her an ipad to use, i watched 3 films - this flight always seems to take 10 times longer then the day flight, we landed at 9am collected our cases and headed to the Hilton hotel as we were staying 1 night.

We had requested early check in if possible but at 10am we were told it wasn't ready and to come back in 1 1/2 hours, we went to weatherspoons for a drink and came back before 12 and were told the room was not ready and that check in was at 3pm! we were also told priority was given to guests who arrived first, we explained we had arrived at 10 am, she then offered us a double and single bed room but we had booked a triple single so said we would wait and 45 mins later we were in the room and asleep

Over to the airport for dinner.

Day 17
My dad picked us up and me and scott went off to collect the dogs from their boarders
They liked their new collars

And were happy to be home

Well done for reading this far, as you can see we like to take things easy on holiday no rushing for us but we do enjoy every minute and are already planning a trip for 2017 which will include a 7 night cruise and possibly 3 nights at Universal and as many nights as possible at Disney

We were so lucky to see the sunset before we left, we loved it, dogs were very happy with their gifts and to be home. Thank you for reading my trip report x
