Thank you all for your input regarding the bday celebrations....I will definately have to get my act together and make it a special day for my daughter - she's so excited to have her birthday on the cruise!! She will be turning 5 towards the end of the vacation and I do want her to feel special.

Still working on my laundry so I can finally get packing!!! It never ends!

Hi....I just checked my stuff and I still have the birthday decoration magnet, streamer (there is a few mickey faces that woudl need to be smoothed) and the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" banner from my son's room the last time I ordered the birthday package for him...since she will already get a cake at dinner...you can save some $$ and I will just lend them to you (I'd be glad to pack them....they do not take up much room).

So I have packed, unpacked and partly packed again our suitcases. I might be able to squeeze it in to two suitcases if it weren't for those darn heavier coats. I think we will need them in Germany afterwards. I am going to try and look at the weather channel today to get a better idea. We have one magnet design done (just have to print it) 4 more that are in various stages of cleaning up and one more to be drawn and scanned in for cleaning....who needs sleep before the cruise? I will be the person passed out fully dressed on a lounge chair the minute they let us on the ship... or sitting on a bench with my hubby in the terminal asleep.... Oh well what are vacations for

How about layers instead of heavy coats? A sweater, a sweatshirt big enough to go on top and a windbreaker-kind of jacket give you several warmness options and probably don't take up as much space

I think my plan will be to go straight to the hot tub at the quiet cove pool and also have a Baileys Banana Colado to top off the evening! Anyone care to join me?

OMG - a what?!?! I'm in. YUM! (DMIL- if you're lurking out there, I vote that we leave the kids with Jeff )

I'm also working straight through til part of Friday, so I'll be around in between freaking out at work. Because I run an organization with few full-timers, leaving really terrifies me. My poor staff are hiding from me this week, and have been given orders to email me every other day with an "all is well" message so I can relax.

Given the insanity of the last two weeks, I think it JUST dawned on me that we are leaving on Saturday! Tonight, I packed a few more items for the kids and I, and then made my final (three page! ) list of things left to pack/buy/get for the kids from the "trip fairy" who visits on the plane/and put in the carry on. A fair amount of it has to wait til later on in the week, but I think tomorrow I will go back through the bags, move some stuff into carryons in case of lost luggage and put whatever I can live with in the suitcases.

We are getting so close! As my facebook status said today, "One week from right now, I'll be on a cruise ship en route to Europe, and that doesn't suck!"

I have not but according to what I read there will be cabs right at the terminal and it will cost about 40-50 Euros. I don't know if they are going to tack on any fees for luggage. Hope this helps.

Curious as to where you are getting your cost estimate? I have looked a couple places and there is/was a thread going out on the general cruise board and I was thinking $30ish(Euros however you designate that) for transport for 2 of us and our luggage?

Just curious if I need to budget more now that I decided not to get DCL transfers at $60American dollars (nearly the same as 40-50 Euros! )

For those of you who have not experienced it before, you are going to LOVE going to Castaway Cay at the beginning of your vacation. You can spend every second on the island and not have to worry about getting back to the cabin, cleaned up and PACKED that night!

I never worried about packing to go home! I hated it but I never let the thought of it ruin my day at Castaway Cay!!

It is the greatest fun! So much so that we have been on a "Double Dip" cruise where we went to Castaway Cay twice!! The first day AND the last day!

I've put in 3 long sleeve shirts and a light jacket? Do I need a sweatshirt too?

I'm running out of room!

We each have one long sleeved shirt, one sweater and one light windbreaker type jacket. We wear golf shirts most of the time and will layer on top as needed. We wear the same clothes at home a lot so will do the same on the cruise.

Oh yes....so yummy!

Here's a story: Dec '07 3 day "sister's cruise" (several groups of sisters meeting up at WDW followed by a 3 day cruise). We go STRAIGHT to Signals after getting on the ship and order five BBC's. The poor bartender didn't even have any bananas up there yet. Never fear, one of us ran to Beach Blanket and grabbed a bunch! We are SERIOUS about BBC's!

Is this after Castaway Cay? I might be interest - in the baileys banana colada! I have main dining (what time is that?) so it depends on when your hot tub colada party starts.

We spent DH's birthday at WDW last year. They gave him a button that said something like MY NAME IS TOM AND TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY. People all over the park wished him Happy Birthday--CMs AND GUESTS! It was great.
Maybe you can buy or make a button for her to wear all day on her birthday and then everyone will know and wish her Happy Birthday.

DH remembered the other day that since we will be at Castaway Cay on Sunday and the WONDER should be headed from CC to Port Canaveral for restocking on guests, we should PASS THEM ON SATURDAY NIGHT! We saw that event on our Panama Canal cruise. It was pretty cool. The pictures are fuzzy because both ships are moving, but you can recognize from the pattern of the colors of the lights that is was the WONDER and it was FUN!

I'm not packed - not one single item.
I have finished the FE's - not even half done!!!!!!!
I am freaking out.

The FE is chose was something I thought would be easy to put together. Boy was I ever wrong.

I at least created a packing list so I just have to pick it up and drop it in the suitcase.

How long does dry cleaning on the ship take? I wasn't able to drop my dress at the cleaners today (forgot).

Me three or four or what have you. I picked mine up today from BJ's for $14.99 and have been shocked all day long by how much everything weighs!

Getting into crazy mode now. Just "talked my head off with instructions for the oldest while I am gone (guess he will find out what Mom's taxi service looks like!) and to the DD who is meal planning/preparing while we are away.

BJ's run done. Just Costco and Walmart left and the kids will be good to go.

The DD4 said "Mommy, we are gonna have so much fun while you are gone we are not even gonna miss you" Gee thanks sweetie! (no, really I've been working toward that comment for sure as 2 weeks ago she was still clinging and not wanting Mommy to go for so many days!)

last minute bank run needed.
Printed off all ressies for rental cars, hotels, trip insurance, DCL contract, flights. . .
MUST remember to check in online Thursday night at dinner hour for FRIDAYS flight to MCO!!!! THIS FRIDAY

Okie dokie, back to the laundry mountain! Determined to leave everything clean yeah, it's fun to say though!
