we will have one with us - you are welcome to use it.

I knew there was a reason I liked the people on this board:rotfl: You all are too kind.

So I have taken to keeping a note pad right next to me at work and writing down things I have to make sure to do as they come to me. Otherwise I will never remember to do them.

OK, deep breth!

Are the FE 'elements' something that could be completed/assembled on the ship? Remember you have all those sea days and maybe even a crafty cruisemate or two to help you out.

I don't recall the time for the dry cleaning, but if you give them something on embarkation day, I'm betting you can have it back for Monday (formal night)...was that your worry? I'm sure someone here will know for sure..

I second that. Since I am not participating in the FE myself if you need help I can maybe try to help you put it together. That way you won't worry about giving away a surprise to anyone that might be receiving them.

I'm working all week.....even Friday, so I will be around checking the thread as much as I can (while driving co-workers crazy :lmao: counting down the time before I can leave).

I haven't started packing anything yet, either. I do have piles started tho - did some trying on of things this weekend, and decided I need to invest in a few more shirts.

Thanks for the comment about the space bags....need to find them and pull them out :thumbsup2 I think I will be sending things to be pressed once we board.

So are any of the people that have the luggage scales bringing them with them? I might need to make a quick check of luggage weight at the end of the cruise but don't have the time or money to run out and get one myself.

I have one someone can borrow, too.

Kristi, I'm not doing the FE's either, so I could help, too, if you need it.

Just remember that things weigh the same whether they're squished or not... It's easy to go overboard when they don't take up as much room. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the offers, if I can't get enough done by then, I may be taking some of you up on the offers. :goodvibes

I talked my boss into letting me have tomorrow off, and hopefully a friend can come over to help.

Kristi

We'll have one with us as well - we can post "weigh station" cabin #'s on Stephanie's board the last few days:lmao:

Now, back to packing, since the car leaves for JFK airport at 5 AM.

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if any of your (or specifically, your children) have celebrated a birthday while on a Disney cruise...is there anything special done? Birthday banner on the door or birthday cake at the dining room?? My DD will be turning 5 and I want to make it a special day for her...can anyone advise? I did see that there are special birthday packages that can be purchased, if I don't purchase that package, will nothing be done?? Also, is there something special for the birthday kids at the Kids' Club?
Thank you!

-Sandy :hourglass

First, the birthday should be noted on your reservation. If this has not been done, call DCL or your travel agent. As above, they will confirm with you what night you wish to celebrate. There will be a cake and singing in the dining room. No candles are allowed as they are a fire risk. They sometimes have a "I'm celebrating" or "It's my birthday" button type pin. Concierge guests get a bigger celebration in their stateroom (at least sometimes). You are free to decorate your room or door for the birthday. If you purchase the birthday package the room will be decorated when you arrive, not on the birthday.

Nothing occurs in the Oceaneer's Club or Lab other than CM's wishing the child a happy birthday. They can't do parties and risk alienating the "non-birthday" kids. DD did take her leftover cake from the dining room to The Stack with she turned 13--as above, we didn't need another dessert, and were more than happy to share. You, of course, can take the leftover cake to the CMs in the Club and tell them that your DD wanted to share with them! This appears to be one time when they are allowed to break the rule about not eating guest food.

Has anyone prearranged a taxi/car service to go from the pier in Barcelona to the airport?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have not but according to what I read there will be cabs right at the terminal and it will cost about 40-50 Euros. I don't know if they are going to tack on any fees for luggage. Hope this helps.

Add me to those bringing a luggage scale :)

Just called CI&S at the port regarding the pool hours and was told that it is posted to close at dusk but "as long there are no noise complaints" it is open for swimming even after dusk

ALERT!

My DW is packing! :worship: It must be real!

Is that The Friday Night Knitting Club? I love this book! It's great.

I AM bringing this book as a donation to the swap!

Mrs. Gumdrop,

Could you post the final awards ballot so I know the specific titles - particularly for the pirate door?

Thanks,
Kristi

Here is the final ballot: http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=...mEtZGExYi00NWQwLWJkNDYtYmZjOGQzNDE1MTcy&hl=en

NOTE: I am bringing 100 print out of the ballots, but if if anyone would like to print their own, that would be great!

Thank you all for your input regarding the bday celebrations....I will definately have to get my act together and make it a special day for my daughter - she's so excited to have her birthday on the cruise!! She will be turning 5 towards the end of the vacation and I do want her to feel special.

Still working on my laundry so I can finally get packing!!! It never ends!

Hi....I just checked my stuff and I still have the birthday decoration magnet, streamer (there is a few mickey faces that woudl need to be smoothed) and the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" banner from my son's room the last time I ordered the birthday package for him...since she will already get a cake at dinner...you can save some $$ and I will just lend them to you (I'd be glad to pack them....they do not take up much room).

Just let me know :)

grlzmom booked one for a dozen of us, scheduled to be waiting for us when we get off (not trying to haggle with a taxi while wanting to be on the way to the airport).

Rumors are that taxis are on the small side in Barcelona (as are most cars in Europe), so a larger family with luggage might need more than one.

....April 22 is Earth Day

For those of you who have not experienced it before, you are going to LOVE going to Castaway Cay at the beginning of your vacation. You can spend every second on the island and not have to worry about getting back to the cabin, cleaned up and PACKED that night! :woohoo:

I think my plan will be to go straight to the hot tub at the quiet cove pool and also have a Baileys Banana Colado to top off the evening! Anyone care to join me? :upsidedow
