I am reminded by Aunt Lynne. HAPPY PASOVER as well.

Family story: One Christmas some years ago, my daughter nagged and nagged and finally insisted that I open my Christmas present early. Now we never do this. Matter of fact, when she was a kid she always made me tell her where the presents were hidden so she wouldn't find them by accident--honest. So I know there must be a reason for her being so insistent and open my gift. And it's a menorah!!! Perfect. To add a Disney note to the story. It was purchased at a shop in Downtown Disney where we had come across wonderful menorahs. Love it when the calendars have Jewish and Christian holidays coordinate.

If anyone wants to head off to Seville with us on Tuesday, April 20, from Cadiz to Seville Santa Justa (seems to be the only train station there), here's our itinerary: (You don't have to stick with us, just offering in case you want to go to the train together - no pressure there!)

Depart Cadiz 08:55
Arrive Sevilla 10:48
MD (medium distance) train, Turista class 11.50 euros pp

Depart Sevilla 18:58
Arrive Cadiz 20:44
ALVIA - Alto Velocidad (High Velocity)
travelling Preferente 27.80 euros pp

Our port times are 7:30 am - 10:30 am
There was an 8:05 departure, but that meant early breakfast, first off the ship, straight to the train station - all too rushed. And it was about 10 euros more pp. Well, the cost got made up with the return trip. I could have left Seville at 17:00 and saved about 15 euros pp. But since I'm leaving an hour later, I'll just stay the extra 2 hours, catch the train on the newer rail line and ride in business/1st class. There are no tickets available on later trains.

There is a horse and carriage process at noon in Seville, as the April Festival starts on April 20.

And did I mention that Renfe workers were on strike this Easter weekend? At least there are buses that run between the cities ... might need to slip a copy of their schedule in my pocket before heading out.

Good Morning! Happy Easter! (to those who celebrate)

Don't eat too much candy! :lmao:

I havent been on this thread in over a week and boy oh boy, there was a ton of pages to catch up on. My DH flew home from Iraq on Saturday.
However, on a sad note, my family could use ALL of your prayers.
We have had a major issue with my 20 year old DS and at this time he is in the Behavioral Center at our local hospital.
I am having a hard time with the fact that we are leaving in a week, and not knowing what is going to happen with my DS.

I am so sorry for what your family is going through. You will be in my prayers today.

Thanks!!! I finally figured out the whole avitar thing. It is nice to see who you are talking to. Actually, I am just doing anything to avoid this big paper I have to write. It's amazing what I can do when I procrasinate! :rolleyes1

You have my admiration! :worship: I was planning on taking a drafting class this semester but decided against it when I realized that I would have missed 5 classes for the trip. I can't imagine having projects to complete on top of all this planning! Good for you!

Mdvasquez: I am so sorry you are going through this, especially this week. Hard as it is, I hope you can take care of yourself and hand over those things you cannot fix. It is both the day of rebirth and the season of new life - I wish that for your son.

Stephanie told me this before, but I can't remember. How are her journal pages supposed to be printed out again? I know they were meant to be double sided papers, but in what order do I print the backs to what fronts. Does anyone know? I will message her tomorrow I guess.

Just print odds then evens.

Very colorful - great graphics and plenty of room for our to-be-tween son, 8 1/2 to practice his writing (most important "homework" from his school) during our extra 2 weeks off.
.
A bit tricky to print out and re-bind but it makes sense once one "gets it".
.
First, super-important to print landscape and "Double-sided" (9 sheets of 8 1/2" x 11" paper).

Then, place face down in-order, 9 pages (very well planned out) as so:

Mickey/Minnie (will be 1st page, when center-bound, then folded)
My Travel Journal (with "stamp") Day 1, Port Canaveral, will be 3rd page.
Castaway Cay with "page" of blank lines, will be 5th page.
Day at Sea (with Stitch on bottom right), will be 7th page.
Day at Sea (lots of blank lines, with "Day 14 Barcelona" on left side of page), will be 9th page.
Day at Sea (lots of blank lines, with "Day 13 Day at Sea" on left side of page), will be 11th page.
Day at Sea (lots of blank lines, with white-uniformed Mickey on bottom-right and "Day 12 Gibraltar" on left side of page), will be 13th page.
Day at Sea (lots of blank lines, with "Day 11 Cadiz Spain" on left side of page), will be 15th page.
Day at Sea (lots of blank lines, with "Day 10 Day at Sea" on left side of page), will be 17th page.

If placed face-down in order above, "Day 9 Madeira" will be left side of top face-up page (18th page).

Fold sheets down the middle individually. Then center-bind with vertical staples (use reinforcements inside and outside as a "binder") or with scrapbooking brads (my wife's department).

We did two copies so my son can make mistakes.

Fun and Thanks!

Thanks for the very detailed instructions!

Your Family and DS are in my prayers, take care of yourselves. I have worked with young people with MH issues for almost 20 years...I have seen many many young people get well and grow to be amazing adults. Again, sending hugs, prayers and good thoughts your way. :grouphug:

Stephanie....great Message Board! and thanks again for all the help with the Journal:worship:

Janell...adorable Avatar....Cadiz? DS and I are doing the Bicycle Tour....but I am not sure it is good for very small kids (unless they have kids seats on the bikes). We just liked the idea of seeing the countryside on bikes:woohoo:

Go a few more things ....got my TIARA! princess:....Got one nice pair of black pants...in a size that ....I have not fit into since I was 13 years old!...:banana: ...Found Earrings for one formal outfit.....but....
I have not packed a thing and my house looks like a bomb hit it ...with FE's shopping bags, suitcases (empty), clothing choices.....:lmao:

Happy Easter Bunny/Spring to Everyone!:flower3::flower3:

As promised here is a picture of what the message board on Stateroom 7542 will look like....

Original plan was to use an 11x11 board but decided to use an 11x17 board instead. This was there is plenty of room for lots of messages. :thumbsup2

Prayers headed out this morning for those who need them... So hard to be facing down a tough family situation so close to what's supposed to be an exciting time.

I am very relieved this morning as DH just logged in and held our mail and cancelled the paper. Seems like a silly thing to be celebrating, but we are still having water issues and there was a point this morning where I thought he was going to call the travel insurance folks instead to talk about cancelling. I have a dear friend at the office who I know will 'babysit' the house and let the clean up people in, etc, but I just hope that Jeff isn't so stressed that he can't relax and enjoy this long-planned vacation. The clean up crew were actually supposed to be coming today but haven't even called yet (which is ok with us - with water still coming in, I'm not sure what they could do anyway).

In packing news, I am hoping to be 90% done with me and the kids by tonight. We are doing Easter dinner with my family this afternoon, but it shouldn't be too drawn out an affair. I know that the office will be nutty this week, so I don't want the stress of packing to be over my head (along with the flood stress).

One week from now, we'll be on the beach. With a drink. Or six. ;)

One week from today I'll be soaking up the sun at Castaway Cay! WoooHooo. Like a lot of other people, I'll be working a full week and reading the DisBoards. I don't say much but I'm always reading, or should I say skimming. I'm starting to put stuff together to pack, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can stick to one carry on suitcase for me.

See everyone in 6 days!!!

Any better in this situation ? - at least he saw the kids.

Yeah things are a little better but it goes back and forth. He took off right after dinner but at least he showed up to see them.

Happy Easter everyone I hope you have a great day :flower3:

I'll check back in later have to go back to mom's for awhile.

My mental power is strong: Linda was the post-er I had wondered about. And here she is, posting more. :)

Impressive!! Yet another thing you do well. :goodvibes

Wish I could say I'm packing but since we are in the middle of a move from one town to another (which should have been over by now), I'm not sure which mirror to write on... :rotfl2:

Missing DS today since he's staying on campus.. a preview maybe of taking the cruise w/o him for the first time too. :sad1:

Have a great day, everyone. Thank you to everyone for all the organizing and great travel tips!!! :thumbsup2

Now trying to print those tickets is another story.

It says "Mantenga la integridad de toda la hoja, sin cortar ninguna de las zonas impresas."

That looks to me as "Maintain the integrity of all something or the other, without something the printed areas."

"Maintain the integrity of the entire page without cutting any of the printing areas/zones (margins)."

Did you get it to print? I am going to attempt to buy our train tickets to Seville later today. We'll definitely be on the same outbound train and may take an earlier train back.

Stephanie, the board and journals are AMAZING!!! :worship: Thanks for doing this! :thumbsup2

Happy Easter :flower3: --- Happy Passover :flower3:

I was in the middle of checking nametags to verify I hadn't forgotten anyone - oh yeah, there were several. I am using both the Master Spreadsheet and the website to double & triple check. We'll have some blank ones, but I don't want anybody to have even a shadow cast on their first day. :goodvibes

Don't forget the CM ones: Handsome Daniel and PJ (put Palo on the second line under his name) :thumbsup2
