Hi fellow Disney FAN-atics!
My husband and I are sailing on 4/10 and looking forward to meeting other cruisers. I realize we are too late to get in on all of the fun you have planned and hope to meet up with you anyhow! We live near Tampa FL (relocated from NJ) and are DVC members practically since it opened. My friends & neighbors think that I am always at WDW but I tell them that I was not there in April 09 at all!!
Looking forward to a great time and hopefully making lots of new Disney friends.

Kathy & Lou

Welcome!

Still have to do the big grocery shop for the kids before I go, find them each some cash and remember to leave them my BJ's and Costco cards. Remember to leave them the ships emergency contact number. Dropped off library stuff today.

.

Getting everything together to leave the kids home is ALOT of work :)

Just saying hello. Jim & Norma Jean who have over 60 cruises and many TA's will be taking our 1st Disney cruise next week.

Welcome!

I can't believe they are giving you a hard time about the meds! I went to Walgreens this morning to explain that I will run out of three of mine while on the trip, but it's too early to fill. They sent a "vacation override" request to Aetna and I pick them up tomorrow! I would have been satisfied with a partial to get me back home, but very pleased Aetna is being nice to me - especially since two of them are blood pressure meds.

Hope it turns out that they relent and let you get the meds.

Kristi

No go with Rite Aid. They said our insurance would give a 7 day "vacation" window and we will have to pay for the rest. Can't go without because they are seizure and cardiac meds and no skipping those :) Oh well, gonna I hope be able to get reimbursed through our flexible spending account if we send in receipts at years end.

I will be at the hotel most of the day as I have Friday off and will be driving down that morning. My friend, who will be taking my car back home, and I plan on spending time at the pool during the day. Not really planned much beyond that. :goodvibes

Kristi

If the weather is good we will be at the pool in the afternoon!

I havent been on this thread in over a week and boy oh boy, there was a ton of pages to catch up on. My DH flew home from Iraq on Saturday.
However, on a sad note, my family could use ALL of your prayers.
We have had a major issue with my 20 year old DS and at this time he is in the Behavioral Center at our local hospital.
I am having a hard time with the fact that we are leaving in a week, and not knowing what is going to happen with my DS.

Dena, glad your dh got home from Iraq ok. So sorry about DS and hope that all works out and that he is in good hands. You are all in our thoughts and prayers and if anything we can do to help let me know.

As promised here is a picture of what the message board on Stateroom 7542 will look like....

Original plan was to use an 11x11 board but decided to use an 11x17 board instead. This was there is plenty of room for lots of messages. :thumbsup2

Love it!

If anyone is staying at the Hyatt in the Orlando airport on Friday night and was planning to eat there, I have a $50 coupon to be used at McCoys Bar & Grill that you can have. The stipulation is you have to have at least a $100 tab, then you use the coupon for the $50 off.
I will be arriving around 6 pm. If you want this coupon, let me know.
I don't think my wife & I will have that big of a food tab, but we will be eating dinner there.
Hope to see someone there.

You rock Stephenie!! Looks wonderful. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That's awesome - a really strong 10K time... and I always found that a hard distance to run.

I'm not really all that fast, especially after a badly broken ankle a few years back, so 'quick' was relative...

But what's funny about me is that I'm what a friend calls an "Adult Onset Athlete." I've battled my weight most of my life, and nine years ago started run/walking right before my wedding. I was 252 lbs (at 5'4") and a size 22. I lost more than 115 lbs primarily from running (and because after I run, I feel like I don't want to 'waste' all that effort by eating junk). The coolest thing, though, isn't what I lost - it's that I gained this athlete! I was totally the last kid picked for gym my whole life. And while I'm not the fastest person out there, I'm also not the slowest, and have won my share of age group trophies. The first time I placed, I thought I was going to cry. Who knew I could be good at something athletic! I'm insanely proud of all my little medals, cause it's something I NEVER thought I could have done. And it makes my heart totally sing when the kids ask me if they can come watch me 'runnin' in da race."

Off to buy lots of socks (ours were flood victims :lmao:) and a new pair of cheapie sunglasses. And sunblock. And maybe a dry erase marker... I love that idea!

Awesome story! Thanks for sharing that!

Mostly packed, most errands done. Paper stopped, mail held, credit card called. Getting there!

Dena--SO sorry to hear this is happening right now. I know it is very hard leaving him. I would be happy to pray for him; there is strength in numbers and power in prayer. Here's a hug for now

I'm not packing until Thursday morning. We head to Seattle for the night and fly out Friday morning. I do insurance billing for 20+ providers all in private practice. I am just trying to keep up on work and get the house ready for us to be gone!

I am in awe by so many of you who have planned so well in advance. I just went shopping today to buy a few things to pack...but packing has not yet commenced (there are 4 of us!). I have two days left of work, a day of school, and a 20-30 page paper to do. I just finished an 8 page paper and a business plan. My brain is fried. We leave Thursday morning! :headache:

By the way, we are flying to Rome after the cruise and will stay there 4 days. We have not yet booked a hotel. Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel there?

I also haven't booked a Cadiz outing. Nothing has jumped out at me...any suggestions???

I think I have everyone confused on my phone thing - it is not for the cruise - it is for this new thing at WDW - It allows you to find out the wait times at rides, where characters are at, etc. It is a real time thing.

Krisann

We just downloaded the Undercover Tourist iPhone app. It tells the wait times for all the rides in WDW in real time! Fantastic!

We were in Rome last summer and we stayed at the Best Western Hotel Canada. It was by the Termini train station. It has pretty good reviews, a nice hotel and the price was good. We found a cheaper rate by booking on the Italian Best Western web site than the US site. We would definitely stay there again if we were staying in Rome again.

I see you're from LA also... so are we!

Thank you for the suggestion!!! :woohoo:

I will check it out! Nice to see someone is still on the discussion board...it's late for those on the east coast=)

WELCOME KATHY AND LOU

We have a winter home on Merritt Island. Looking forward to meeting you.

Hope everyone has a nice holiday

But not for those of us in the South (we're on CDST). Fun avatar.

Thanks!!! I finally figured out the whole avitar thing. It is nice to see who you are talking to. Actually, I am just doing anything to avoid this big paper I have to write. It's amazing what I can do when I procrasinate! :rolleyes1
