CABIN TOURS

Cat 1 Walt/Roy Disney Suites
Cat 2 Suite 2 bedroom w/Verandah
Cat 3 Suite 1 bedroom w/Verandah
Cat 10 Deluxe Inside
Cat any Sideways

If these slots do not get filled with volunteers, I say we just walk up to the Suites, and start banging on the door, until the guest opens the door, or security shows up to LET US IN. I mean, where are they going to do with 100+/- scofflaws?
:lmao:

Ooops, never mind! I just remembered the news footage of people going missing at sea!
:scared1:

He He He... I did a search :surfweb: of the thread for "cabin tours" and found a few that I hadn't included on the list. Then I snuck in and edited my last posting of volunteers and added Yvet while you were typing your post. :rotfl:

Oh you're goooood !!!!

I'll keep my eyes posted for anyone else who may have slipped thru the cracks!!:)

That would be CRUELLA if they did! Oh, will your hair be black and white? How many dalmations do you have? :rotfl:

I don't want to be Cruella! My dress is being custom made and is a beautiful white lace top with a full flowing black skirt. I have not seen it yet but I picked out all the fabrics and I am so looking forward to getting it.

Oh wait - Disney - what is Black and White? MICKEY and MINIE MOUSE! So I will not be a villian - I am taking after Minnie :)

Weigh in folks - "OPEN (stateroom) HOUSE" or "ESCORTED TOUR" (we're walking, we're walking . . . ). Wishes of the those opening their "homes" should be foremost.

I'm w/ Dee on this one. Now, if I stayed put with folks dropping in for an hour or so, I guess And, Lynn, somehow my (upgraded from 7) Cat. 4, Deck 8 never made the leap with Mrs. Gumdrops. I'm glad someone else stepped up with the Cat. 7 (navigator's verandah), since there's so few, and they're worth seeing.
Now, to work the passenger list and get us one of each of the suites:banana:

I vote for the escorted - I want to see the rooms too!

Black is easier to pack w/ for shoes, um evil shoes I mean.

Where did you find your packing cubes? I think we might need another set of just the larger size but the ones online (Rick Steves) are so darned expensive, I'm hesitant to buy them.

Also, I think adding a tiara to a black dress definitely makes it more princess than evil queen!

On the subject of princess dresses - I'll probably leave my black at home. I love my black dress and if it is evil queen, it is sexy evil queen, but it has a beaded neckline and is quite heavy so I think it's out. ;)

I got my packing cubes when they were on clearance at Avon.com but they do not have them any more. I did see some at Target also. I like my rick steves ones best though - they are total mesh and conform best but for the price I love my avon ones - but if i needed to buy another set right now it would be the rick steves ones.

Here are your name tags and a blank:

I've changed the color background of the name tags because the white on navy seems to show up better from a distance - and it matches the logo better.

I like that too - navy with white writing

Lynne, Thank you that was very generous of you. I'm Tinked and Lorrie is just a travel friend but she will be happy too. I am really looking forward to meeting you and others from this board.

Still need to:
-book rental car or shuttle from MCO to port
-get euros
-find travel wallets that hang around neck and under clothes. We have them somewhere.
-make list of things to pack
-make magnets for door
-figure out what I'm wearing. The girls have been set for months.
-do my online registration
-order 2 more rolling duffles. :sad2:
-make list of all the things I want to see in each port
-figure out where I want to eat tapas in Barcelona
-put all confirmations for private tours in pdfs and have dh put them in his google docs.
-get/make (scrapbook) journals for girls to write in on cruise.
-find a cool book about star gazing when crossing Atlantic.

Just thinking out loud...but thought it may help someone else who is still knee deep in planning.

That would be me....LOL
I like seeing people's planning list, it might remind me of something! :)

I have Eagle Creek cubes from the Container store. They were on sale in June and are really great. They were doing demonstrations and everything.

I also got sets from LLBean for $29 for the whole set but no folding helper. The Eagle Creek sets were Christmas gifts for my DDs and their DHs and then I couldn't resist the $29 sets from LLB so I bought them too.

I've been traveling a lot since I retired and they are perfect. I can do my initial unpacking in 5 minutes.

What do you expect to do on this 14 day cruise that you were never able to do on a shorter cruise?:cool1:

This is only my second cruise but I'm looking forward to the sea days so I can explore the ship more and do some tours or things I didn't even know happened when I was on the last one years ago.

This may yield different answers ... depending on what is condered a SHORTER cruise. Here it goes for me ...

Comparison of 7-day to 14+ day:
1) More time to get more intimate with different parts of the ship (not to be confused with getting intimate IN more parts of the ship)
2) More onboard ship tours, and behind the scenes events
3) Relax on deck 4 or 10 ... never had time for this on a 7-day cruise
4) VEG-OUT on the plush leather chairs on deck 4 & 5 (instead of sitting there, in line, waiting to talk to DVC or DCL (booking))
5) A chance to actually USE the gym
6) More time to watch movies in a fabulous theatre
7) More time to engage in the onboard alcohol tastings
8) Order room service - just for the heck of it (Mickey Rice Krispy bars, with chocolate ears - what were the others I was supposed to order?)
9) More chances to have breakfast in Lumiere's
10) Secret deck #___ (shhhh!)

We've been on a 15-day Panama Canal Crossing, and LOVED the Ducky Williams events ... so this will be fantastic to relive!

See comments in the quote block above :)

I like your list. It sounds a lot like mine. With the exception of getting intimate with the ship...I only plan to get more familiar with aspects of the ship I didn't know so well before...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I also vote for the escorted tour. I volunteered my room because I thought that if I want to see other rooms, I should be willing to share mine. I also vote to start at the top and work our way down. I could probably do a flight of stairs down but I would have a hard time going up all those flights. :)

I also have packing cubes. I got them from www.ebags.com. I haven't used them yet, though. Any tips? Do you put outfits in them or all undies, all shirts, etc? I have all sizes.

I have been using Eagle Creek packing cubes for years, and love them. They are a great way to get organized.

There are no set rules for using them.

I use them for "like" articles. Such as, all socks in one cube.

I also use small ones for camera gear (camera, battery charger, batteries, memory cards), and for electronics (iPod, earbuds, charger, extension cord, cell phone, charger).

Ok here is what I am doing because of how we are traveling:

Each person in the family has one large cube with all their clothes (shirts, shorts, socks, pj's, etc.) that they will need for our 3 days in Disney - all four of these fit into one carry on suitcase.

Now for our cruise wear - each person has one cube for pants, one for shirts, one for undies/long underwear/socks, and then I have my dh and dh suit jackets, pants, shirts, ties and socks in one, one has my dd & my semi-formal and non-poofy formal wear.

Then I have these small ones and each person will take one in their carry on bag and will have a t-shirt, pair of undies and a pair of socks - just in case (last time we came back from Europe I sent EVERYTHING in checked bags as I had never gotten stranded - and we took a bump for free tickets and then the plane we were bumped to had mechanical troubles and had to spend the night BUT ALL our bags were already on the other flight and already in Nashville - will never do that again!)

Now I am still packing and still have cubes - I will most likely pack a cube with one outfit for each person in it and then these cubes into each different bag just in case one doesn't make it we will still have some clothes - lets just hope it is not our WDW bag that gets lost - we might look silly walking around WDW in our formal wear!

Oh did I mention I LOVE my packing cubes! They keep me organized!

If only..........I could be half as organized as you!! Amazing! :worship:

I do have some plastic Chicos bags I use sometimes. :goodvibes

...I'm Tinked and Lorrie is just a travel friend ...

Which made me start thinking about the name tags. I was planning on putting each person's real name & the user name of the person with which they are associated. Perhaps a system so you know who is a DISer and who is a come-with?

Here's what I had for everyone, I think the white over white might be a little harder to read from a respectable distance:

Here I changed the user name to gold and think it might be a little easier to distinguish between the 2 names:

Non-DISer: Since you can't read the red as easily, you then don't have to remember anything they posted, facts about them....
