I know I can't wait to see WOC I've seen a few pics and it looks really cool. I'm hoping for a quick trip before August so I can see Aladdin one last time because they are taking it away. And no I haven't been yet I just bought in January and because of the cruise am having to hold off but I'm excited for it.

They are offering a really good price on the cruise for the Villas at Grand California and AKL and Bay Towers if you can add points. I think it was $17 or $19 a point off the going price plus I got 2009 points to bank for this year and no closing costs. They do make it easy...

That's GREAT! Congratulations to him (and you)! My DS is right behind. He is 1st Class and looking to be Star by June. We are, right now, in the middle of changing troops. Our church is starting a troop and so he is going to switch to it - a really exciting opportunity. I am now, and will be in the new troop, Assistant Scoutmaster. The first troop meeting of the new troop is 4/5 and then we will miss 3 for the cruise. I can't imagine a better reason to miss, but really looking forward to the new experience when we get back.

That sounds great...a new troop, how exciting. And congrats to your son (and you) for his achievment so far :thumbsup2. Went to summer camp last year...probabaly will go this year. I LOVE the fact that I always get my own tent :) I love the scouts...hate the ugly tan shirt ...seriously unattractive. princess:

:thanks:

Good to know I'll have to make sure I talk to them onboard about it then. :thanks:

I was alarmed to see that the crowds are expected to be really large on Friday. But that's ok! I am going to take it slow and smell the roses. We are planning dinner at Wilderness Lodge to take a break from the park, but I have high hopes that I will be able to hit all of my Must-Dos.

i really recommend Tour Guide Mike if you have a "must do" list as he helps you lay out what to do in what order when the parks are crowded - and yes that is the end of Spring Break so it will be really crowded. I use his system everytime I go to WDW and we have a great time!

I am no good at creating graphics or door signs so can I just say "ditto" :)

Happy Birthday

Hi Scott & Joius! We're in scouting, too -- DS (8) just received his Bear badge last Sunday and will be participating in a Scout Shabbat tomorrow. I am a co-Den Leader snd the Pack Committee Chair. We're missing skit night in April, tho. Maybe we should get all the scouts on board together for a photo... but I am not sure about bringing a uniform <g>. Are you going hiking in Madeira? There are some great hiking options. Maybe we could join forces...

Hi Everyone:

Our family may be visiting the Palau de la Generalitat in Barcelona, which is open and free to the public on April 23 (thank you to mommyto3princesses and to Lynne for posting this information!) I had inquired about the best time to arrive and to confirm the hours as it was unclear on their Website for this particular day. I wanted to share this with everyone for those interested and here is their reply:

"We have received your e-mail where you are interested to visit to the Palau de la Generalitat. We inform you that on April 23, Saint George's day, the Palau de la Generalitat is open to the public during the whole day. Sorry, but we don't be able to advise you the best time to arrive, it is difficult to determine, this day visits us a lot of public.

On April 23, Saint George's day
Open day to visit Palau de la Generalitat
The visit is without guide (established tour)
Schedule: from 10 hours to 19 hours
Thank you for your interest.

Wow, that's great! I was Den Leader and then Cubmaster when my DS was a Cub. What a great program! What I love about Cub Scouts is that it is a FAMILY program, not just boys. My DD was very disappointed when my DS bridged because she was not going on the outings any longer.

As for hiking, I think my DW is more interested in shopping than hiking. We are going to do the sights their without a tour (tobaggons for sure) and make sure we are there for the flower parade.

Thanks for the public dressing down.

Irony......not something your familier with? When you meet Mickey maybe you could ask for your sense of humour back.

Dictionary.com definition of Irony:
3.Poignantly contrary to what was expected or intended: madness, an ironic fate for such a clear thinker

That's why I packed in five years ago.....Conversation over.

Sorry, no public dressing down. Irony? How would anyone know what you are / were TRYING TO SAY ... we can only read what you write. There are / were no emoticons suggesting a joke, and I am not sure I ever saw an IRONY emoticon!

Re-read your original message ... then tell me if the post was an obvious joke ... or a statement. Smoking and death are not humorous. I will keep a dictionary handy, to look up words that are not referenced in your future e-mails. Oh, yes, it was nice of you to dictate the end of a conversation.

Thanks for the rec. I will check him out.

Neat, a Scouting gang (it's not a gang it's a club). That was why I had posted earlier about using the info on the google spreadsheet for a little background. It's where I first saw scott post (under hobbies/interests) "Scouting", and I knew we'd have something to talk about - I've been registered, youth then adult for nearly 50 years now (cripes, am I THAT old?).

Well, guess I'll go add info to the spreadsheet. And maybe your boys will make us some foil dinners at Castaway Cay (to get back on-topic):rotfl:

OBC
Silver
$100 for 3-6nt cruises
$200 for 7nt or longer cruises

Thanks for this info!

Free drinks on formal night. Still can't believe it took me till my 3rd cruise to realize these drinks are free!!!

Match Your Mate and Magic Quest (Adult Savenger Hunt) - They are both on night one and both not to miss. We always laugh so hard at both of these activities!!!

Oh and my husbands personal favorite, the pastry treats in the Cove Cafe. Again something we did not know were free until our 3rd cruise.

Did not know drinks were free on formal night. Did not do MYM or MQ last sailing and did not have a pastry from CC. TFS!

Loved your Happy Birthday message art. Can't wait to see your door!

Favorites: LOVE the rainforest..... one time I fell asleep on one of the warmed up lounge chairs and they closed and didn't even realize I was still in the rainforest room LOL. I woke up and all the lights were out and not a soul was around...and the front door was locked:scared1:...I had to call to have someone let me out.

Love this story! :rotfl:

I've never heard of one over 10%
A Disney specialist travel agent told me that some cruises are offering a higher discount. :confused3

Hmmm, rebooking and wanting to join DVC. Dh may throw me overboard. ;)

Martin, thanks for looking into this. I wonder what time I should consider getting in line for this? :confused3 I thought they'd open much earlier. Or I'm wondering if I should try to do this at the end of the day. :confused3

I have 3-5 families interested in booking Vancouver to LA in 2011. So excited! The only bummer about this sailing is we don't go to Castaway Cay.

My favorite food on last cruise: Fresh mango and paninis by the pool. They provisioned in Acapulco and the mango was delicious!!!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! I'm 33, now so hopefully I can remember my age. For some reason, I could never remember 32. Dan is older than me, so for some reason I always think of myself as being that age. Makes getting older easier. I started prepping for my cruise and had a dessert with lunch. :)

Regarding my blonde moment.....wow, I'm really blonde, and didn't think about the name tags. I figured some people would probably just put their key card there (which is probably really tiny print)...and not wear their name tag around the ship. That will be so much easier if people wear name tags.

I'm sorry to ask here. I've looked at the big board but there's so much info...

A friend is planning to book the Vancouver - LAX and they are a family of 5 and may be a family of 6 at time of sailing. ;)

What are the best connecting rooms for a family with 3-4 children under the ages of 8. She would like a large porthole window. She said she saw that somewhere? :confused3

I may book this onboard for her so we want to figure out what she wants asap. I didn't know that I could book onboard for another family and they'd get the same discounts and obc as us. :cool1:

TIA

Since there seems to be a lot of Canadians on this trip, I thought I'd post this (hopefully) helpful tidbit.

If you have a Bell, Aliant or Telus calling card, make sure you have the Canada Direct access numbers for the our ports of call. This way if you need to make a call home from a port, you will be charged the Canadian long distance rates not the local payphone rates which can be unbelievably higher.

http://infocanadadirect.com/

I didn't bother with the access numbers last year and when I had to call my DH from San Juan (thinking how much could it be?) I got a $75 bill for a call that didn't go through. :scared1: I disputed it and got a credit but what a hassle!

Well, if we're bragging....3 (of my 5) sons are eagle scouts. So there. Actually, I'm not such a big fan of the program. Many things I really love, but I hate the exclusiveness (people who don't share our religious, sexual, etc. beliefs need not apply, people with mental/physical challenges only most unwillingly accepted). Never-the-less, it was good for my 3, and the other 2 simply chose not to participate. So it all worked out fine.

My DW (Annette) asked me the other night if we were sitting with anyone other than our DS and DDIL at dinner. I told her that I did not know but that we usually found out the seating after we arrive unless we have linked with someone (which we have done on other cruises). She said that she wanted to sit with other people so that Brack III & Jen could meet "our friends".

Is there anyone out there willing to link for dinner? :flower3: We are fairly harmless .... most of the time.
