THANKS! No matter what, WE ARE GOING ON A DISNEY CRUISE!!! :cheer2:

Just found this on another thread. Sounds like the travel agents are going to be in touch soon! :hourglass

"Disney's Inventory Control department is going to be contacting the guests/travel agents who are impacted by this. Right now, it's not known what they're going to offer."

Always on a Friday - and leaves us waiting over the weekend. !!!

:sad1: The fellow DISer who was supposed to be sailing with us on 9/17/06 just got this information from his travel agent. Not very encouraging if you ask me.

"They told me that yes, the cruise had been canceled and they said Disney told them that I could either cancel my trip with no penalty or I could re-book and I might or might not get the same rate."

Good luck to you!

I was in a similar situation last year when DCL cancelled the Oct 8 05 sailing because of dry dock. After initially being brushed off and then being told we were getting nothing, I pleaded my case (I felt I had a valid argument), and DCL came through in a huge way for us.

I hope they live up to their reputation and do the same for you. :goodvibes

Cam, I am glad they came thru for ou, but why did you have to "plead" your case? They are the ones who messed up, seems like they would want to take care of their customers?

They were offering us our deposit back. They werent trying to pull anything like that. Legally they were in the right. Just certain circumstances that we had, made me feel that if I knew this Oct cruise didnt exist, I could have gotten a better deal sooner on the only other time we could cruise.

I had just about sworn off DCL and was a day away from booking on another cruiseline, when they came through. And now we will be sailing on Saturday and I couldn't be happier!!! :cool1:

I hope those who got "bumped" get a great deal on another cruise. I think that since DCL is making the change by choice (the ship is not broken, weather is not bad, etc) they should compensate all those who had three and four night cruises planned. I would be so dissapointed if it were me. Good luck and keep us posted.

Cam, I would love to hear your argument to DCL! I am getting the impression that I am going to have an uphill battle. I am getting a little nervous :scared: . Any help is greatly appreciated! The more knowledge I have going into this, the better I will fare.

Thank you to everyone who us wished us well!!

We had a very similar experience with DCL. They came through BIG TIME for everyone on our cruise. DCL does not want to lose the goodwill of its guests.

We were offered nothing for the October 05 dry dock. Eventually rescheduled for October 06, which is what we wanted anyway.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. I'd be shocked if they let you sail for 11 days for the four day price.

I'd be happy to keep the rate I have now for a different four day cruise. I'm not really looking to get an outrageous deal but it's interesting to know that the offers are out there for some folks, yet not others.

I talked to my TA at DU. She said DCL is not offering anything. That is not ok. I have a call into DCL. Waiting for them to call me back. I'm not looking for alot but we have the secret port hole rooms and now the prices for the other cruise dates have gone up greatly. We want to go at the same time of the year. We have 3 cabins booked. Booked on the Magic. They want you to book so far in advance and then, they change things on you. It is great to have an 11 day but they need to do the planning before they release the available dates. Please keep in touch with what you all hear. Thanks Debbie :confused3

Sad to say - but they're the ones that get the oil. Disney is #1 when it comes to customer satisfaction - that said - each of has our level of what will satisfy us! :smooth:

It stinks that you have to go through all the extra effort - but persistance and smiles will get you what you need to be satisfied. (I used to be a CM many moons ago!) :earsgirl:

Good Luck - anxious to hear how it turns out.

Wow - I am suprised to hear that Disney isn't offering the same rates or anything...

I received a call this afternoon from my travel agent. She told me that she had been on the phone researching options for us all morning. DCL has offered us the same rooms at the same price on September 3 2006! Naturally, I took it! I have to say, I was a bit skeptical about my TA because of some issues in the past, but I am pleased to say that she did a great job for us! Kudos to AAA travel! :cheer2: We had three rooms booked for 10 of us and she has guaranteed me that all will be the same!

Thank you to everyone who has been so kind with their stories and advice! Finding the DIS was one of the best things that ever happened to this Disney addicted family! :wave2:
