OK, this is the first time I have stayed at an official Disney hotel - always stayed at SOG. Just saw the term 'bounceback". Not sure what type of discount that is?

Any clarification would be appreciated !

Not really sure if this will help you out or not but, I just wanted to share my bounceback offer...
We were at the World last year 9/25-10/2. The offer left for us was:

Free Dining with either of these vacation packages:
5 night/6 day package @ a Value Resort for $60 per person per day in a standard room

or

5 night/6 day package @ a Moderate Resort for $75 per person per day in a standard room

The travel time frame was 8/15/10 - 9/30/10
Book before the end of your trip and make a $200 deposit.

So, there will be a certain travel time frame for the bouncebacks. I can't say for sure that it's always for the same time the following year of your trip as some Disers have said they've had offers that were for the same year. Last year we did the free dining and paid rack rate for our room. The bounceback offer was free dining and 50% off our moderate room. When we go back this fall, it could be something completely different.
I know I probably didn't help but, I just wanted to describe what ours was to give you a better idea about them.

So it sounds like you book a trip for the same time, same place the following year before your current trip is over?

I could do that with this coming trip going into next year since we have the same time off every year! Do you have to be offered it, or can you ask about it?

There's usually a flyer in your room. If not, you can call or visit the front desk and see if a bounceback is being offered.
I was super excited to book it! Made it a teeny tiny bit easier to leave knowing that we already had a another trip booked. And it works out well because we know we will always be able to get that time off work. Already prepared to book it again this trip for next year!
Like I said though, some Disers have said their bounceback was for another time frame. So you never know!

I was there last year in August and was disapointed to "not" get the offer in my room. I called the front desk and had to beg to get it. Point is I dont think everyone is offered, its the luck of the draw. Good luck!

Not luck of the draw.. If you are at WDW, a registered guest in a WDW hotel, you just call X8844 from your room and give them the dates that you want to travel, and they will tell you what the BOUNCEBACK offers are for your time frame. It helps if you have your current reservation number handy, then they can easily look up your current stay with some basic infor needed to book a future Bounceback.
We were at the WL, and neither concierge, housekeeping or the front desk had bounceback flyers. I had my old flyer so I just called X8844 to get a future bounceback reservation for Dec 2010. I got 20% off Pop Century during Value season.

Sometimes they ask for the code that is on the flyer sometimes. You can ask housekeepers for a flyers as they are the ones that leave them in the room. Just have to book before you leave WDW & in the time frame on the flyer

I had code OKR ready when I called X8844 from my WL room.. They didn't ask for the code..
