Bounceback Question

We booked the bounce back offer in our room last week. We picked CBR because it's my kids favorite and they love Jamaica best. So I wanted a standard room in Jamaica but they wouldn't let me pick standard, I had to get preferred. We really don't want that since none of the preferred rooms are in Jamaica.

Now that we are home I looked up the price difference and for our dates, preferred rooms are $500 more than standard which eats a big chunk of our savings. I was told that because I booked it, we have the deal locked in and get make any changes I want later.

Has anyone ever had luck getting switched to a different room type on an offer like this? How often should I call to try?

Yup, it's the free dining bounce back. It says I have to call to make changes.

You can always call and keep checking, but when we booked free dining for this year all that I had the option of what preferred.

When I called on 9/2 to book my bounce back I was told there was no availability at CBR for standard rooms. I book standard at POR instead. I then called (actually had my TA do it) and she was able to change me over to Pop. It's worth a phone call but be prepared to be told there are no standard rooms available for the promo. They only block out a certain number of rooms in each category for each promo.
