I am wondering if a bounce back offer is good for the room rack rate only. I have never done one but may try for this October if one is offered when we are there in April. Just wondering what kind of savings we could possibly get. Thanks!

If you get a bounceback that is a % off, then you will pay the discounted room rate for the qualifying nights. If you get a bounceback for free dining, then you will have to pay the rack rate for the room.

As the pp said, a bounceback offer is usually a room discount (% off rack rate for selected nights) or sometimes it's free dining (you pay rack rate for the room to get this). The percentage off varies, depending on how badly Disney needs to fill rooms. The percentage off varies among resorts as well. We have been lucky to get 40% off deluxe resorts in the past with bounceback offers :).

Does anyone know if I recieve a bounceback offer during our vacation in March, is it only good on another vacation in 2012?

That's what ours was, only good for a 2012 vacation, with certain weeks unavailable.

The current BB is 35% off Deluxe, 30% Mods, 25% Values, and the BB dates to choose from: 1/1-1/15/12, 1/8-1/12/12, 1/16-2/8/12, 2/12-2/18/12, 3/4-3/10/12, 3/18-3/31/12, 4/29-5/26/12, 6/3-6/9/12, 8/5-10/6/12, 10/21-11/3/12, 11/11-11/17/12, 11/25-12/1/12, 12/9-12/15/12.

Note that no matter which resort you are currently staying in, you can ask about BB to any other resort category :thumbsup2

Based on previous years, this Room Discount BB will probably stay around until sometime in August, when it will expire and a new BB for Free Dining for next year will start (to be able to book a FD package a year in advance for next years FD dates.)

Then sometime in Oct/Nov, the FD BB will probably end and a new Room Discount BB will begin, with dates into next year.

They can always change up this previous pattern, so need to keep that in mind

Kind DISer ancestry previously posted a copy of the latest BB flyer:

We were just in Disney December 11-16. Here is a photo of the bounceback card that was in our room in case anyone needs to see the blackout dates, etc.

The offer was for 35% off of Deluxe resorts but I know that a 30% off of the mods was offered as well as that is what I booked. Not sure about the values as I didn't ask (Note-it's 25%).

Call extension 8844 from your resort room BEFORE checking out. Good luck to everyone! :cutie:

Yes, that was our BB during our Jan stay, so we booked AKL at 35% off for Aug.
We had a prev. BB offer for Aug 2012 from our Aug 2011 stay with free dining, and had POR with free dining booked. But switched to the 35% off deluxe offer.

For us if we stay at a moderate free dining is marginally better. But for Deluxe resorts the room discount is always way better.

That big yellow clock is the same bounceback I had when I was there both Nov 26th-Dec 4th and again Feb 4th-11th. When I was there in Nov/Dec, I booked three trips for 2012 (CSR for May 4th-12th, POFQ Sept 1st-8th, and POFQ Oct 27th-Nov 4th), getting 30% off the mods. Only thing is rooms were limited. For my May trip I had to switch from my desired resort (CSR instead of POFQ), for my Sept trip, I had to move it back a week from the last week of August and still couldn't get CSR so went with POFQ, and my Oct/Nov trip I had to move back a week and again go with POFQ instead of CSR. When we were there Feb 4th-11th, I called again, just to see if I could change my resort for May and move my dates for Oct/Nov, but still couldn't get exactly what I wanted, so had to leave them alone.

Usually the AP rates beat the bounceback by about 5%, so I was planning on switching to an AP discount for my May trip anyway. However, I was surprised when the AP discount came out for May that they were exactly the same as the bounceback and that I still couldn't move my May trip from CSR to POFQ for my dates.
