Bounceback question

We have taken advantage of the free dining promotion for the last several years and loved it each time. We have never booked a bounce back package - we are always too involved in the current vacation mentally & financially. Now I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs & waiting for April to come so that I can book a Sept FD trip.

My question is, if it is offered & I book a FD bounceback for Sept. 09 while I am there this Sept, then have to cancel later, does anyone know what the ramifications are?

How much $ will I get back (if any).

Could it be put toward a different future trip?

Thanks!

I could be wrong BUT I think as long as you cancel within the 5 days before your trip you can get a full refund.

Also with the bounce back only certain dates are open. (I thnk)

You must pay your $200 deposit within 14 days of your booking, I believe with the Disney Visa early booking you must pay the deposit immediately with that credit card.

Your entire package must be paid in full 45 days prior to arrival. My guess would be if you cancel before the 45 days and final payment, that it would all be refundable.

If you cancel after that point there are cancellation fees of at least $100. If you cancel in that five day range it much higher, $200 minimum. Special bookings may have additional fees or no refunds at all.

I had the same concerns last September when I made our reservations. The CM told me that my $200 deposit would be fully refundable if I cancelled before the 45 day mark. It seemed so odd to be making reservations for a year away but I didn't want to end up missing out on the deal.

When I book my bounce back this past September I had to pay $200 right then & there. Not 14 days later at least that what I was told . Then had to be paid in full 45 days prior. But if you cancel within the 45 days you get all back unless you brought the travel insurance & then you would get all back but the insurance. MHO ;)

Thanks! This really helped. I just know I'll want to get in one more FD before the kids are too old to miss school.

You are correct, on the bounceback special it had to be booked right then. But when I booked a spring "free dining" deal, deposit had to be paid in 14 days, and when you look at the back of their paperwork it says "a deposit of $200 will be due and must be received by WDW within 14 days of booking the reservation....". Oh, and when I booked the early Disney Visa promo, it had to be paid right then with my Disney Visa.

OP is actually talking about doing both, booking this spring and then again booking a bounceback in fall if offered. So her deposit could be handled in two ways.

I wasn't correcting you Hopper Fan :) I was just stating what I had to do for my bounce back promotion. Last spring when free dining came out for Disney Visa card all I had to do was put down the $200 then & pay within the 45 days. Also I didn't know they had a bounce back for the spring. Live & let live no worries :cool1:

yea, the way I look at it, is get the 200 dollars for a deposit if you are remotely thinking about it and then you have that option for free dining available. If that plan falls through, then cancel it later for a refund....:cool1:
