Ok....I am here down in Disney, and I called about the bounce-back deal for 2009 to get more info about possibly booking it. The quotes I got....well...don't seem like that great a deal?!?!

For example....I called about booking 8 nights/9 days at the Poly for 2 adults. The quote I received for a garden view room was $3,689.38. Now, if I were to simply book this on my own, and pay for dining and passes, it would cost me $3,828. So, the promo saved me 138.39???? The promo says "free dining" - but only saving $138 doesn't even cover my dining?

Am I missing something?!?! :confused3

It sounds like the quote you did with your own calculations is already discounted? A free dining bounceback means you will still pay rack rate on the room, just get free dining. That's the only way I can figure out the discrepancy.

Our bounceback offer in January was for 30% off the rack rate for deluxes, and 40% off DVC villas.

Edited: I realize now the CM gave you that other quote, I think? So I agree with the PP, somebody calculated something wrong. I'd call back and get another quote (from a different CM!)

When I ran it on-line, 8 nights at the Poly GV, 9 day ticket (no parkhopper or waterparks), and dining plan for 2 adults was $4335.60. When I took off the dining plan, it was within $8 of what they quoted you on the phone. It's a pretty good deal if you can swing it!

Free dining is not always the best deal when staying in a deluxe. For instance, I just got back from a stay at the Poly that I had booked at 30% off. 30% off rack rate is greater than the $76 per night savingsfor 2 adults on the dining plan, so it would not have been a good deal to pay rack and save the $76. when the 30% off was saving me over $100/night.

Now, if you're staying in a value and getting free dining, that is a huge deal, because you know, 30% off $109 is only like 30 bucks anyhow.

I haven't done the math on the moderates, but I'd bet it would be pretty much a wash.

It is a wash (more or less) for the moderates. I think for just DH and I, it would save us about $60 extra in September to do free dining over a 40% discount, so if the discount was less (like say 20%) free DDP would be even more beneficial. That being said, for a large family (like 2 adults, 2 adult children and 1 child)...they would save a ton more than just DH and I would, so free DDP would probably be better than any code you could get.

All of these codes, offers, PINs, etc. are so hard to keep track of. I think I need a degree in calculus just to figure it out. ;)
