bounceback/AP??

We booked a trip for Aug 08 while at AKL in Dec 07. WE booked Pop Century and with the "bounceback" offer I believe it was 20% off the room. We booked two rooms and added dining which was allowed during the "bounceback" offer. Then I read on Dis that AP holders no longer need to add 1 day ticket to get dining. So I called Disney to take off the 1 day ticket for all of us because we are AP holders, CRO took me off the "bounceback" offer. She said I can not use the "code" and take the 1 day ticket off. Does this seem right. She said maybe an AP rate will come out for our Aug trip. I assumed we could book a "code" package and not have to buy 1 day ticket. Does this make sense. Has anyone been able to book "free dining" as an Ap holder and not buy the 1 day ticket?

The CM is correct. Only a few recent specific packages were ticketless for AP-ers, and I am not aware of any FD ticketless packages.

The CM was correct. Free Dining is part of a MYW pkg and at least a one day MYW ticket is required for everyone in the room, in order to get it. You can take a chance that a good AP room discount may be offered during that time and if so, you can use the AP room discount and purchase the DDP (at full price), but I doubt if an AP discount at POP could posssibly beat free dining.

For my May trip I was able to use an AP discount on the room (POFQ) and then able to purchase the DDP (at full price) without having to buy a MYW ticket. However, for our Sept trip we are having to pay rack rate for the room (PORS) and buy one day park tickets for everyone in the room, but then we get the DDP for free. My AP does us no good, for the free dining promotion as the pkg requires that you both pay rack rate for the room and buy everyone at least one day MYW tickets. To get free dining AP holders are in the same boat as everyone else. No way are they going to let us have a room discount, free food, and not have to buy a one day ticket.

To make it really simple: If you book a code, you can't drop one of the pieces that make up the code and still keep the rest of the pieces. You may be able to upgrade one of the pieces, but you can't drop something completely out. For example, if the code is for a discounted room, regular dining, and a minimum of a one day base ticket, you can't drop the dining or the ticket and keep the rest. But you may be able to upgrade the ticket or dining by paying an upgrade amount.

So in the OP's case, their code involved the mandatory ticket purchase requirement. In order to not have to purchase the ticket at all, they would have to drop the code entirely. They could upgrade to a better ticket (more days or entitlements), but they couldn't drop below a one day base ticket.
