I just bought a bunch of Bounce Dryer Bars because they were $1 each after sale and coupon. I put the first one in my dryer last Monday or so. Every pair of jeans that I have washed this week have these residue type spots on them. I can almost scrape them off and they do come off if I wet them down but it's becoming kind of annoying!

Is the dryer bar causing this or is it something else and it's just coincidence that I just started using this dryer bar? Is there a secret that I am missing that will stop this from happening? I don't machine wash too many of my other clothes except for undergarments. I'm not noticing it there but it's very evident on the dark fabric of the jeans.

Thanks for any help/advice!!!

I think it could be the dryer bar. I bought one a month ago and it fell off in my dryer the first load I did, I heard the loud noice it was making each time the dryer rotated so I took it out. I stuck it back on and it happened again this time sticking to my comforter and left a huge greasy looking stain on it that wont come off. I know it was the dryer bar because it smells just like it. WE have since bought a new dryer and I would never try it again.

I've not had either of these experiences. I love the dryer bar. It stuck to the side and makes everything smell great. No residue. :confused3

Yes it is the bar! I have bought two of them and have had the same problem when drying my black pants. I called and complained and they sent me a coupon up to $8.50 for a Bounce product. I went back to using the dryer sheets.

Oh no!!! I'm sorry to hear about this - I hope you figure out a way to get the spots out! Maybe we should consider taking ours off...

I don't have residue, but I have not found the bar to work well. Maybe I got a bad bar, but things come out really static-y and don't smell all fabric softener-y.

I LOVE my bounce bar :) I was leary about buying it because I did hear stories like you have said. But I have been using it for about 2 months & no residue here....

The spots come out with just water. It's almost like too much of the "softener" is coming off each time. I do know that our dryer is about on it's last leg. DH actually does most of the laundry and he often runs the dryer on two cycles so maybe it's just "user error" that the residue is coming off on my jeans. Maybe if DH starts noticing it on HIS jeans we can get a new dryer soon!!!

You can bet there'd be 27 bars in my dryer if that was the case around here. :rotfl:

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I had considered those bars, but this makes me leary!

We have been using the dryer bar for a while now and have had no problems. I love being able to just throw the clothes in the dryer, not worry about a sheet, and having everything come out static free and smelling really good.

Although we had no problems with residue everything was super staticky!!! I was shocked that they had so much static, we will not buy another!

Love mine too. I've had it for at least a couple of months and much prefer it to the old sheets. I've had no problems at all with mine and hope they don't discontinue them. :goodvibes

The first time we tried the bar it came loose in the dryer within 2 weeks. DO NOT put it back in once it falls off! The residue becomes a problem. We contacted PG and they replaced the bar with a coupon. These either work well or fail and are hated. We willnot try them again. PG must be getting a lot of complaints about these. One of the first questions asked is whether you are making a damage claim.

I've been using the dryer bar for about 4 months. I'm on my second bar. I have no complaints. I haven't noticed any residue and I like the smell.
