Bounce Back Offers?

I've seen people referring to bounce-back-offers. How do these work? Are they offered when you do traditional check-outs (as opposed to quick check-outs)?

If you've received one, what was offered to you? My family is staying at Fort Wilderness for 12 nights in August, but I would love to take my hubby back in October for a long weekend (his birthday/20th wedding anniversary). Should I ask about a bounce-back offer?

We were just at Pop Century the week before last. There was a paper in the room saying that if we booked for our next trip before we checked out, we would save 20% off a value room rate, 35% mods, 40% deluxes for that next trip. We booked at CBR for December and saved almost $500!!

The paper has the phone number that you need to call if you want to book the bounceback, and it has to be done before you check out!

If you don't see the flier in the room I would call for sure!! Just dial 8844 from the in room phone!

We're getting APs next month, and I'm wondering if the BB (40% for deluxe) is usually better than the AP rate, or the other way around. Any idea?

FYI - and this might or might not be the same this year, but is based on the last couple years - if your August stay is during the Free Dining dates your BB will probably be for you to be able to book a Free Dining package for the next years (2011) Free Dining dates, and not for your October 2010 stay.

Just didn't want you to be BB disappointed

(BTW though the BB might not work out for you, there WERE other good deals for October stays last year that came out toward the last half of July, so be sure and watch for those.)

The bounceback offers can vary depending on which resort you are staying in. I booked a bounceback when I stayed at FW last month, and the flyer in my room was only for villas and deluxe resorts, or FW cabins. I saw another post where someone was staying at a value (Pop, I believe) and they had an offer for values and moderates. They did ask me several times during the booking process which resort I was currently staying in, so I don't know if you are restricted to the offers for your particular resort or not (you'd think they'd be happy if you were staying value, and wanted to bounceback deluxe, right?). The different resort types also had different dates - for example, you could book a discounted deluxe room in December, but the villa discounts were not available for December dates.

As to whether an AP discount will be better or not, it depends on what they offer to AP holders. I haven't seen anything for AP holders that goes higher than 45% recently, and I booked a 45% off bounceback for BWV, so for me, the discount was the same. You just have to do your homework and compare all the offers available during the period you want to travel to see which one is the best deal.
