I'm guessing I know the answer, but want to check with the experts. If I'm staying on rented DVC points, I will not receive or be eligible for a bounce back offer?

No, you can still book bounceback staying DVC. They don't care how you got the points.

If you book a DVC room through Disney, you're eligible. Since you're on rented points, the reservation is not eligible for any promotion.

This is correct. Anyone staying on property is eligible to book a BB. If you don't receive any BB info, you can call X8844 from your room and ask about promos.

Having been a DVC Member for over 10 years, this is incorrect. If you are in a DVC using rented points, it is a DVC reservation not just a reservation at a DVC resort. If you book on points, reservation goes through Member Services technically under a different legal entity and you are not eligible for any promotions, free dining, etc. because you are viewed as getting a discount on the room.

ETA: You also do not get daily mousekeeping/cleaning.

Mickeynut and auroraborealis have it right. It doesn't matter if your current stay is on points or not to book a future bounce back stay on cash. Of course, there is no bounce back offer for using points for a future stay.

I am also a DVC member, and I assure you: Anyone staying on property can book a bounceback. Even a DVC member staying on points, or a renter staying on points. I have done it.

Disney have no objection to someone DVC coming back and giving them cold, hard cash instead of points. Absolutely none!

It is true that you are not eligible for the non-DVC promotions like free dining for a points stay. But being on a points stay doesn't prevent you from booking a future cash stay at a discount while you're there.

Also a DVC member, and we've also booked bouncebacks while on DVC stays as well.

Also let my sister and her family use some points for a night's stay at AKV in June, and they booked a bounceback while there, as well.

It's definitely allowed.

Thanks, all. This is our first time staying on points, and while I was aware we couldn't do any of the promos with the points, I wasn't sure about bounce backs. Good to hear it's been done!

Have a great time! Hope the BB works out for another trip :wizard:.

Crossing my fingers! I keep thinking the 13 month annual pass is a phenomenal deal if we go again, and the bounce back might help that decision - especially if they've got a room only option.

The bounce back information is usually in the red folder on the table when you arrive.

Piggy-backing since it has to do with bounce backs...

Does the bounce back have to mirror the stay you are currently on in terms of time, resort, etc.? I'll be staying in a value studio at AKL on a cash basis the night before my cruise in August, but there is a strong possibility I'll decide to do a trip just to the World for my birthday trip in 2018. (I know... August... Hot... But if you're not a commando-style tourist like I am not, and don't mind taking it easy and feel like you have to do everything...and don't mind carrying with and drinking lots of water it's doable.) Assuming there is a bounce back on offer, would I be able to book it at a different resort than AKL and for more than one night?

No, it doesn't have to be the same as your current stay. You can choose whatever they are offering in the offer.

If you are there in August, the BB may be an offer for free dining for certain weeks in 2018. This was the one for this year (Available to guests starting Aug 1, 2016)

The 2017 Free Dining bounceback for current WDW resort guests ...
Dates are ...
5/30-6/6/17
6/30-7/5/17
8/11-9/9/17
12/8-12/20/17

Thanks! So just thinking ahead, those are packages so the deposit would be $200, correct?

Sorry to hijack, but also curious what the deposit amount and terms are for a BB offer? We have a stay coming up and may want to take advantage of the BB for both us and my parents. Is that permitted? If we have one room on our current trip, can I book two under the BB offer? Same cancellation terms?
