Boulder Ridge vs. Copper Creek

I winded up choosing BRV late last year because I noticed that they almost never get taken by ROFR. My goal was to get 200 points at less than $90 a point and BRV was the best property to do that at. I winded up bidding $87/point for 200 points through an international seller and it passed ROFR a month later.

For me it was about buying into DVC at such a discount that it would not have me scratching my head about expending too much of my savings. I’m 40 and my children are 4 years and another at 5 months. 20+ years of usage is quite sufficient. We have gone the last 4 Christmases to Disney anyway so DVC seemed to make a lot of sense. The cost to buy in at BRV was cheap enough where I knew I wouldn’t have any buyers remorse.

The potential upside is if they decide to allow dvc owners to pay a premium to go beyond the 2042 expiration date, a la what they did at OKW a few years back. If they do, I’ll buy in and resell when we no longer use it anymore. If they don’t, I’m at peace with what I spent vs. what I’d pay to rent points to stay at Disney the next few years.

For me, BRV is the best deal Disney has right now. Super cheap buy in. Boat to MK. Upcoming refurbishment in 2022 which should increase buy in costs then thereafter. And if you travel at Christmas, it’s the best resort one can stay at.

just my $0.02.

Best time to buy is when MFs come out in December.
we own okw and in process of selling and want to watch prices for BRV and rebuy , we want about 100-125 realistically. MF's are affordable in that range for us! No large contract needed.

and I’d add...a BRV listing sold by an international seller is a ROFR buster. Definitely bid low as you have a good chance of winning on your bid if the seller takes it
