What insights can you share about BRV? I don't really see many posts about that resort and the resale contracts are pretty cheap too. Is it getting too dated? Room configuration poor? Just don't hear much about this resort good or bad.

There is a pretty active thread (or several) in the resorts section (They refer to it as VWL from the Wilderness Lodge days). I have never stayed there, but we wander over from BLT for an afternoon now and then. I really like the theme, but couldn't comment on anything about rooms, etc.

Room configurations are pretty much identical to BWV, BCV and SSR although SSR has not received the murphy beds in the studios (yet). It's just a small resort so fewer rooms and owners compared to most others so just a little less talk too. And where it used to be the only DVC MK option many have been added. IMO it has some of the best theming you'll find at a Disney resort. It's relaxing and a short boat ride to MK.

Here's the DVC resorts thread for it: https://www.disboards.com/threads/v...ated-16-aug-18.3242976/page-743#post-60070247

It also gets talked about on the main resorts board under the WL thread.

It is scheduled for a full renovation in 2021 if I remember correctly. They did a full renovation about four years ago.

On the resale market BRV is selling for under $100 pp while 100 yards away CCV is selling for 150+ Am I missing something or is this the best deal on property right now? All the same amenities and restaurants plus a boat ride to MK. Seems almost too good to be true. Gotta be something wrong with it.

BRV expires 2042. CCV expires 2068.

We have only stayed at BRV once and the room we were given was HA with no safe or closet - just a wardrobe - on the first floor. That was in '09 and we've never returned.

That was a studio, right?

Right - we usually stay in studios, except for AK or when we vacation with family.

Don’t buy there unless you have stayed there or at CCV or at Wilderness Lodge hotel. I stayed at CCV and was not a fan of the property. I don’t have a car when I am at Disney, and I learned that I am much happier at a resort where you can walk to a park. I will not be staying there again.

(To clarify - I did buy where I love to stay, which is BCV and BWV. I normally stay at one of those two places. But I wanted to try new things on my last vacation, so I booked CCV.)

Getting the HA can happen anywhere. If it's not explicitly booked, given DVC's occupancy rate... someone gets it.

There is also the legendary, but totally real, BRV studio with no balcony.

We will be trying again - we're in CCV studio in June - here's hoping for a closet and in-room safe :rolleyes1

BRV is awesome. We love the overall resort theming. I agree that you need to understand if you're ok with taking a bus everywhere (or boat to MK) but no matter where you stay you're going to have to do this for at least half of the parks regardless.

I do not own at BRV, but have always loved it. The units are spacious, especially compared to CCV. I love the main entrance, fireplace and comfy chairs in the sitting room in the “lodge.” I love taking the boat to the resort from the MK, and there is great bus service. I think it is a wonderful and an under appreciated resort.

Best resale going!! It’s the best kept secret and at thier resale prices a steal.

Okay, I give. HA?

All I'm getting from the context is "Haunted Armoire" :rotfl2:
