Looking to book a 1Br in November for 3 nights. Me, my wife, baby and a 4 and 6 year old. Any recommendations? We have no idea on the pros and cons of each. Thanks for your help.

CCV is newer with huge modern tv sets, BRV rooms are a little bigger and a bit quieter location away from the hustle and bustle of WL proper. Both share the same WL amenities. I love both properties and don't think you can go wrong no matter which one you pick. Have a great trip!

I agree with jarestel--hard to go wrong with either. However, please note that VWL (that's what they now call BRV, but as an old WL devotee, I can't bring myself to use BRV except in parentheticals) is the only one of the two where the 1BR sleeps five. So, not only do you get less room at CCVC vice VWL, but technically it sleeps only four. Now, you can sleep five at CCVC given one is an infant, no worries. Still, they haven't dedicated space for a fifth person. The extra floor space at VWL would be helpful. Further, the rooms in the old VWL (BRV if you must) building are a bit more removed and thus likely to be slightly quieter. The distance to the bus stop is going to be the same in either. Access to food and boat dock is closer at CCVC, but it's not like the VWL rooms are a long way away--they're connected by a covered walkway--perhaps, an extra couple of minutes. If you want new and closer access, then CCVC. If you want more space and perhaps a bit quieter location, then go for VWL. Have fun deciding!

Not all the villas at CCV are declared into DVC inventory yet. So you won't have access to all the villas.

Is this true? I haven't seen anything that states that, but curious if this is accurate. I do realize the studios have the extra bed but the 1BR's? I would love to stay here at some point, and any chance I can separate my kids sleeping arrangements the better.:chat:..Thanks for any info...Or Pics, if ya got 'em:thumbsup2

From the DVC website regarding CCVC:
  • One-Bedroom Villa
An inviting environment with separate living and sleeping areas that can accommodate up to 4 Guests
The design team for Copper Creek had to use the existing space and structure of the former WL rooms, thus couldn't find a way to comfortably (and relatively inexpensively, I'm sure) fit five people in a 1BR. They have a bit of a shotgun style to them. Pretty but smaller than VWL.

The VWL (some say BRV) allows 5 to be booked but there isn't sleeping spaces for 5 - it's bring your own bed and bedding for the 5th. So in your case the kids would still be sharing the sleeper sofa if you didn't bring an airbed or something.

CCV though only allows 4 to be booked.

Actually, DVC members can be assigned any of the 184 vacation homes that exist at Copper Creek.

Due to the Reciprocal Use clause that is in the Master Declaration of each DVC condo association, DVC Membership and Disney can exchange accommodations between their respective inventories. DVC Members can have access to accommodations that have not yet been declared in exchange for giving Disney access to accommodations that have been declared.

So far, Disney has declared accommodations on the fourth, fifth, and seventh floors, as well as 12 cabins. DVC members could be assigned a villa on the other floors and, in exchange, Disney gets to use one of the declared accommodations. Last November we booked a CCV studio using points and were assigned a villa on the sixth floor. None of the villas on that floor have been declared for the DVC inventory.

I think the suggestion was more that studios cannot be booked via points to the full extent studios exist, 1BRs cannot be booked to total quantity, etc. There's the ongoing debate if the units declared determine the total bookable inventory (which is different from "what unit someone is assigned into"). If only 50% of studios are declared, only that many studios can be booked, although someone may be assigned into any physical studio space on arrival.

So it's more a warning that "inventory is more limited than building size."

(And I know you know this @wdrl, just trying to be less confusing to the OP, who seems to be novice!)

Yuck....Bring your own, Bed & Bedding...That doesn't sound like fun for a vacation. :crazy2: But I guess some people gotta do what they gotta do...But ok, now it makes sense, thank you for the clarification.

I've been doing this same comparison for a 2 bed villa. Some other differences I've come across:

Views - Most CCV rooms don't have a bad "view", whereas around half if BRV rooms look out over the bus stop area.

Balconies - CCV has balconies that extend across, and include the full face of the unit. BRV has smaller balconies that basically encompass the sliding glass door, and do not extend across the face of the unit. The master bedroom does not have a balcony. There is also at least one studio at BRV that does not have a balcony.

Closet space - In looking at floor plans, it appears BRV has more closet space. However, CCV has the beds that are open underneath, so luggage can be stored under there.

.

Just a quick comment on this as I've never had the lakeside at VWL (BRV). Though almost 1/2 of the rooms face the bus stop side many wouldn't allow you to see the buses at all and the ones down towards the bus stop end, where we have much experience, are in general not clear views of the bus stop. There's still a lot of tree. But, you can hear them even if you don't see them all that well. I believe that a lot of the Dedicated 2BR's are at the far end of the building and would have little or no view of the buses. My only room close to that was a ground floor studio and I don't recall being able to see or really hear much from the buses. But you have to like trees if you're on that side!

Having always been in WL rooms in the section that was converted to CCV I would agree that you have a better chance of a good view there. But I'll point out that those rooms overlook pools which tend to be a more noisy view. It's not bad but if facing the main pool area we could always hear sounds even with the doors closed. Pluses and minuses with everything.

Agree with KAT. I've been bus stop side four times, once near the covered walkway, and could barely see any bus through the trees and, actually, could barely hear them if at all (somewhat wind dependent). Also, I've stayed in 2BRs at VWL that have a MBR balcony (1BRs, too). I, too, will grant that overall the views at Copper Creek are better in that there is a better chance of having views of a pool or the lake or both. Noise could wind up being a factor, however. ;)

Us, too. We couldn't hear the buses, let alone see them for all the trees.

We were in a 2 BR at Disney for ten nights over the Christmas holidays. To avoid anyone sleeping in the living room, we let our six year old grandson sleep in our bedroom. We went and purchased an air mattress, air pump and a sleeping bag. He enjoyed it as he had never had a sleeping bag before. We left it there when we left.

Agh...Good point!

Is this 5 in the 1 bedroom 2 kids and a baby? Or 3 bigger kids?
