Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek @ one resort - why?

As owners we will never know what we actually pay for but my guess is that Disney has us pay for everything that they legally can. I have made official inquires in the past and have never been given a straight answer by Disney.

I think they are referrng to the lobby area and the formerly known as the Iron Spike Room. Now the Pacific Carolwood or something like that room.

But isn't this area open to anyone? I am pretty sure that when we stayed at CCV and walked over to BRV so my husband could check out the gym that we sat for a few minutes in the little room area off to the side. It is lovely, but it isn't as if there is controlled access. I guess I just don't understand the now deleted post about sharing this space, it is already a shared space, like every other public space at WDW.

For some reason said poster posts messages on many boards ‘warning’ CCV owners (and potential future owners) how Horrible and Sad it is that we don’t have a ‘Common Room’ like BRV. Reminds us to STAY AWAY from theirs because it’s not shared. Also ‘warns’ that there will be no more Signature restaurant in WL and people should buy DVC elsewhere. Kinda like a broken record PSA.

The sad part is he’s the absolute only person who is protesting CCV not having a common room (and he doesn’t even own at CCV!) None of the actual owners seem to care or want one. Nor do we want to use BRV’s either!!!!!

Just bought CCV. Wanted a VWL contract for Dec trips. And LOVE the main lobby. We used the BRV common area one trip when we were staying at SSR. On check out day we had lunch at WCC and had several hours to kill before catching ME to airport. DDs had laptops and needed to do homework so we sat by fireplace in BRV common area. Didn't really think we weren't allowed. Folks that eat at Sanaa, but not staying at AKV, they can sit on animal viewing decks. I am sure many folks do.

Anyway, we bought CCV points last week. We have a stay there in Oct and booked the RS club thingy. Looking forward to trying it out. It's just DH and I for 1 night stay so perfect time to try it.

OP, another difference is the rooms are smaller at CCV. In fact the 1BR at CCV will only allow 4 guests to even book it (BRV<BWV< BCV< SSR allow 5 but you bring airbed and linens for the 5th). So a plus to being a BRV owner is you can book 5 in a 1BR there. And the rooms are more spacious.

On February 21, 2017, Disney filed the "First Amendment to Common Facilities Agreement" (see OCC document #20170096679), which amended the Common Facilities Agreement that was originally filed on September 12, 2000, for the Villas at Wilderness Lodge (now DBA Boulder Ridge Villas).

Of particular interest is Section H of the First Amendment, which reads as follows:

WDPR, DVD and the Villas Association desire to provide that guests, invitees and licensees at the CC Villas & Cabins (the “CC Owners”) to share the use of the recreational areas and common elements of the Villas, including the Villas Swimming Pool (the “Villas Common Elements”) and for the right of the Villa Owners to share the recreational areas and use of the common elements of the CC Villas & Cabins (the “CC Common Elements”), and for the Villas and CC Villas & Cabins to each bear their pro rata share of the costs of maintaining all such shared facilities and common elements. (Emphasis added)

It seems to me that Copper Creek owners and Boulder Ridge owners are considered to be one big happy family when it comes to sharing common elements at Wilderness Lodge. The pools and recreational facilities are explicitly noted as being shared, and the lobby area in the Boulder Ridge building may also be considered a 'common element', too. If so, it is a shared item.

However, I have not looked at the original ground lease for the Boulder Ridge Villas. I don't know if the lobby area is classified as a 'common element' or as a 'limited common element.' Of course, I don't know if that distinction is germane to this discussion.

Bottom line is that we are all one big happy family . . . or at least we should be.

Yes, any time I see this posters name I always brace myself. He usually stirs up something on the restaurant boards as of late. Recently getting in to an argument with a mod over TIW.

Thanks. I have seen those posts all over the boards and always meant to ask about this apparently exclusive area that no one but the pp ever spoke about on the internet, but I never got around to it. It seems from the information posted about the amended Common Facilities Agreement that it is even more much ado about nothing than previously thought. We loved our CCV stay in April and hope to add on there next, pending information about Riviera. We much prefer the main lodge and all of the amazing places to explore and relax there. I am a little concerned about the AP rumors, only because a few very reliable sources have indicated that they still don't know exactly what the plans are for keeping a signature dinner option there, and my husband and I really do take advantage of the signature restaurants when we are staying at a resort, sometimes planned, many times unplanned, but I am not calling it DEAD quite yet. I take a more relaxed wait and see approach. We are trying to get a studio at CCV for our April 2019 trip, but it isn't looking too promising, we may be at BRV, or cash at WL, since we apparently can't stay away from the beautiful resort.

THANK YOU for that information. I hope that puts an end to the negative posts.

Sure, anyone can sit there. We once had a DIS group meeting there.

So maybe my VWL (BRV) dues will go down with more people sharing the space.
