Haven't had a chance to post, but after countless hours of analyzing and analzing every which way, we finally purchased 150 points at the BCV last month. Almost didn't get the Use Year (February) we wanted (will be going mostly during Spring Break) because we waited to the last minute to call our guide. We put a down payment on an August Use Year because Feb. was sold out. Went on wait list for Feb. which came thru in a few days.
We used our GM Mastercard for the bulk of the purchase and the Visa Disney card for the balance. We get a 5% rebate on the GM card and 1% on the Disney card. We'll of course payoff the credits cards with our home equity line when we get the bill. We used the Magical Beginnings since we were at Disney this past Spring. So between the MB and credit card, 150 points cost us a little under $10,600.
In the end, the financial aspects didn't matter. We just wanted to be members. Of course, this board helped tremendously. Without it, we would still be waffling (sp?) and would have lost out on the BCV which is really where we wanted for our home resort.
I want to thank everyone on this board - especially Dean (always knew the point questions), Lisa and Doc as well as many others. I learned something from just about every post.
