It's not non-stop, but I'm dealing with it. Delta has flights for $168! There's a stop in Atlanta both ways, but the times are good for me.
Departing 8:30am MSP; arriving MCO 2:32 ~ a little later than I like, but do-able for the price. Coming home, leaving at 12:10 arriving MSP 4:51.

So I bought for my party. NWA was still $328 at the cheapest for crummy times and SC was $341.

For half price, I can make a 1 hour stop.

Yea for you!

So cool you were able to take advantage of those Delta prices! We never have been able to for Disney, but we did for Las Vegas in April! Awesome!!!!!

*sigh* I finally broke down and bought Delta flights too for Jan. We're "saving" close to $500 on two tickets by flying out of MSP instead of Duluth but I'm emotionally dragging because I know we'll still have to do a room on either end AND pay for 10 days of parking.

There goes my "savings"..........jeez louise.

Congrats to you, that is a killer price out of MSP! We got $137 once on Delta, for December of 2003. I don't thrill to changing planes, but for that price we couldn't pass it up. Of course I haven't found anything that good since! We are a good $300 on each flight at Sun Country every trip since.

Something about changing planes just makes me feel, "Aren't we there yet?". I know part of it is having kids, but my kids will be 10 and 11 this trip. Not a biggie. And actually, breaking up the trip with a little walking isn't sounding too bad. I get so stiff on planes.

The layovers are only 1 hour 8 minutes each way. Perfect as far as I am concerned.

We did get that $137 on Delta a few years ago. Even then, we decided to make 2 trips because for the money I was planning to spend on airfare, I could buy 2 trips worth of tickets on Delta. So we did. Went in June and December.

I am a die-hard non-stop flyer...but $ speak to me especially when I am paying $180 less PER PERSON. I can deal with saving almost $800.

DisMN--

You should try the Fairfield Inn in Mendota Heights. They usually have rooms for around $100 AND give you up to 10 days of free parking included in that room rate. One of my friends stays there every time they do WDW because no one has a big enough vehicle to drop them off at MSP. They love that hotel especially because they go in January as well and when they call for the shuttle, the hotel people scrape off their car AND warm it up for them.

They have a free airport shuttle and are literally across the river from the airport. I think when I MapQuested it, it was like 1.3 miles or something really close like that.

Check into it. Sounds like it could save you some.

Oh thankyou! I'll try the Fairfield next. I've been calling around and haven't gotten to the *F's* yet. LOL
Sounds like a nice place especially the car warming part!! :sunny:

We just grabbed this fare for our trip in early January! With all the talk of high fuel prices and rising airfare prices, I couldn't believe it when this fare came up. Layover in Atlanta is a concern, but both layovers are over an hour! I'm still going to wear my running shoes just in case! ;)

PM me. I can give you an email address to the sales manager at Crown Plaza. He has been giving us rooms for $85 using a park and fly deal originally found on Hobbit Travel's web site. That cost includes parking your car in their lot and shuttle service to and from the airport. We use it everytime and love it!

Don't stress it. I listened to too many people on this board before going to Atlanta my first time, thinking it was going to be too hard if I had to go from one end of the airport to the other.

Our first time, we had only 45 minutes between flights. We made it from Terminal A to Terminal D in less than 10 minutes. The train is really fast.

I totally agree, ATL isn't that hard to navigate. The trains are quick and you get around fast. I had a 2.5 hour layover, so I went into the main terminal, me a buddy who now lives in Atlanta for lunch, and then took the train back to C to catch my connection.... I still had an hour and a half left to wait!
