We are wanting to renew our passports, but do both my wife & I have to be at the passport office to re-apply for new passports? I don't really want to have to take a day off work. Can my wife & kids just take my completed application with them? I've tried calling the passport office, but of course you can't get through to anybody.

You do not personally have to be at the Passport office. Your spouse can stand in line on your behalf.

You don't have to both be there, My DH went for my passport and all he had to show was a proof that we both live at the same adress. We got the passport 15 days later.

Enjoy your trip.
