Both of our first times to Disney and we will be celebrating OUR HONEYMOON!!!!

What Value resort would you guys recomend?? We wanted to stay at something real nice and all that. But then we thought about it!! We are doing this all on our own and if we stay at a cheaper place that leaves more money for us to do funner things!! and we wont be in our room much anyways since its both of our first times we will be out exploring ALOT!! So PLEASE help me!!

In terms of value resorts, check out the themes you prefer... The newest/nicest is Pop Century, but it can be crowded with lots of kids.

Also just a heads up, check the disney website for all sorts of cool deals they have. My DF is Army, and we got 40% off our honeymoon. There are also teacher discounts exclusively at the swan and dolphin. It's a nice way to upgrade! :)

Pop Century is definitely my favorite value resort--- although, unless you count a night at All Star Movies, it's the only one I've stayed at! If you wanted to upgrade a bit though, I would suggest Port Orleans French Quarter--- it's the smallest of the moderates, and I think it's romantic too. :)

OK everybody I finally got my fiance to look at pics of the resorts and he has chosen the caribbean beach resort  I know nothing about this place :lmao: Can you see the fireworks from this beach???? we will just get a standard view room!! Does anybody have any BAD experience with this place??? I hope we can settle on this one :confused3 Thank you EVERYBODY

I can't comment from a personal perspective as I've not stayed here but I though I'd share some links with reviews.

HTH's a little. : )

I forgot to mention that if money is tight it may be worth you exploring the hotels around the Disney area. They aren't always cheaper but it's always worth taking a look. I stayed at the Swan and Dolphin last November and it was lovely. It's such a short walk to the Boardwalk too, which is very romantic on an evening. You can also walk to Epcot from there. If you're not the walking type though they offer water taxis and buses to all the parks and DTD.

Carribean Beach is very nice. My MOH and her DF stay there All the time. The resort is pretty big, so if you go with it, try to request a room close to the pool/food court on check in (if they have empty rooms they should be able to, even a standard view). Also the only disney transportation that goes there are the buses and since it is a large resort, there is often a wait.

Did you look at Port Orleans French Quarter? It's smaller, and has good night entertainment (hip jazz club near the food court, horse and carriage rides along the river.) May be a bit more romantic.

My name is Ashley and my fiance is Brian, we have a beautiful (almost) 2 year old little boy!! We will be getting married at home in WV 2/29/12!!! We will leave (just me and Brian not baby) on march 1st at night time and arrive to the WORLD on 3/2/12!!! We want to stay some where that will have a bit of a romantic feel but yet somewhere fun also since we are only soon to be 23 and 24!! We both love animals and i thought maybe the animal kingdom place :lmao: sorry im new to all of this :rolleyes1 We wanna keep the first day open to rest because of the long drive the night before, so I'm thinking maybe we could do the board walk or something that day. We wont be leaving till 3/9/12 so figured that would be fine!! I dont know about how the extra magic hours work?!?!?! Do you know in advance of who will be opening early or staying open later?!?!?!? Should we get the hopper tickets or would the one park a day tickets be fine for us?? We will be driving down with our own car, do you have to pay to park at other places in disney if you are staying on location?? or should we just catch the buses and monorails to other parts of the world??? Sorry again but we both have no idea of what to expect and none of our family has ever been there to help us out :rotfl2: Thank you for reading and please help me with any idea's tips anything will help!! as i think of more things to ask or things i wonder about i will ask  Thank you!!! remember that we will be mostly paying fr all this ourselves on just one income!! :scared1: im a stay at home mom ;)
Disney World is the best place to celebrate a honeymoon especially with kids~there is a little bit of something for everyone! I love your idea of staying at the Board Walk over nite! You mentioned you have a 2 year old. We stayed with our 2 year old at the Board Walk and the best thing was that we could walk over to Epcot Center (about 10 min~just a gorgeous walk outdoors!) and then when it was time for a nap we would walk back instead of having to wait for a bus or have to take the car back to the hotel. Also, don't forget to try the surrey bikes and you can rent a little boat! It is so beautiful there especially the play grounds and the awesome pool for kids. The Board Walk is also great for their restaurants literally around the boardwalk and the entertainers on given nites. We also stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, our daughter had just turned 2 and it was a different feel. We loved being able to see the animals...it was calm and serene there not the hustle and bustle feel you get from Disney goers at the parks. The main house pool was great for kids, there was a recreation area and also great dining. I hope i don't overwhelm you but if you want to go to any character meals i recommend booking now b/c reservations may not be available. Or you can go as early as they open or later lunch to try to get in (we have been successful this way during spontaneous trips). Magic hours: ok-really easy! So what this means on a given day one of the parks will be open several hours early or several hours late. Ie: Magic Kingdom: open from 9 am-Midnite. There should be a schedule in your welcome package at the hotel with the extra magic hours the week of your visit. I do have to admit initially the most difficult part of our trips have been adjusting to our daughters naps. She is not a stroller kid and will not nap in the stroller. So we get up early, have breakfast, get to the parks early to go on rides or get "fast pass tickets" (i will explain in a bit), have lunch and then head back to hotel to rest, wake up, go to pool after or dinner at the parks, ride more rides, or see fireworks and call it a nite! Fast Pass: these are machines that are set up by the major rides where you place your park ticket in and it will distribute another ticket along with your origninal park ticket with a certain time to return to ride the ride instead of standing there for 45min or so. For example: Pirates of the Caribean return between 10:30 and 11:30....its great b/c you and your family can ride the jungle cruise or aladdin's carpet ride during that time and return and get right on the pirate ride right away! Congrts to you all and hope this helps!

Hi again....sent you long message just before i read this! I hate to say this but my husband is accustomed to staying at the luxury resorts there....and all the times we've been together we've stayed at the Contemporary, Polynesian, Board Walk. However, i booked a surprise trip for him and i was on a budget (i could care less where we stay just as long as i have a bed without bed bugs and a clean bathroom) and so we stayed at the All Star Music and much to my surprise he loved it! He said "why are we spending so much money on these luxury places when we can save and spend more in other areas?" It was great! The rooms were clean, the pool was great and the service was wonderful! Lots to do for the kiddos as well! By the way....in response to your post about extra magic hours my husband has a website that posts this in advance but since it is only still June and you are going in Feb (great time to go!) it may not be posted yet....i will get you the website name! Before i forget: it does not cost anything to park your car at the hotel if you stay within disney. If you are staying at a Disney resort, at check-in, you'll be given a parking pass to put on your dashboard. This pass identifies you as a Disney resort guest, and helps you gain easier access to other Disney resorts as well as granting you free parking at the four major theme parks. A couple things i recommend you do that might help: you can get a free planning DVD which is wonderful and showcases all the hotels and their amenities, also all the different parks and what they have to offer. go to: disney vacations . com and search free disney planning DVD Take care and hope this helps!

We've stayed there and we had a lovely time! Didn't spend much time swimming, but the price was right and the service was good! the grounds were beautiful

I stayed in CB a few months ago and on thing about it is the place is HUGE. There are 6 or 7 bus stops just within the resort alonewhichcanadd 10-15 minutes to your travel time. I had a room in Martinique and it was quite nice. I really liked the atmosphere.

Does that help?

:thumbsup2 Yes any info at all helps :rotfl: since neither of us have ever been there :confused3 Thank You :)

How early will the schedule for the parks come out for march 2012?? I would like to see these before i can make reservations to eat :scared1:

We got married at WDW and had part of our honeymoon there... we stayed at the Beach Club and it was wonderful, it is DH's favorite! Another great one is the Wilderness Lodge. Very romantic kind of secluded feel, but very close to MK, you can take a little boat over there. There are also many great restaurants in the hotels near the MK... Ohana, California Grill, Kona Cafe, Artist's Point. Also Wildnerness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge are the least pricy of the Deluxe resorts typically. I definetly enjoy the Value resorts but I like how close many of the deluxes are to the parks.

:sad1: OK well money is super tight, and I am actually trying to find a job now  I have been a stay at home mommy my son's whole life, even though he is only 2 :sad2: I make edible Images for cakes but it's just not bringing in enough money:headache: and living pay check to pay check from my fiance is just not gonna get us to disney :scared: We are gonna try our best to get to disney and so we have got to cut some things out!! We will have to stay in a value and only get the quick service dining plan, instead of the one with the table service.. which is fine with me because I wont have to worry about reservations and we can just eat whenever we get hungry i suppose. But do you all think that the quick service plan is worth the money or do you think it would be cheaper if we just paid out of pocket???? Even if we have to get married at the court house, I WILL BE GOING TO DISNEY!!! again neither of us has ever been there and the last time we started planning a disney trip and put our first payment down I found out I was preg so we cancelled!! I AM DYING TO GO!!! any tips on making money will help :rotfl2:
