My DH and I drove over to hike Mt Monadnock today to be greeted with 'No Dogs allowed' on the Mt ever signs. It was a first(1st mt we've encountered that doesn't allow dogs-even in winter) and very disappointing but instead of risking a $200 fine, we hiked Pack Monadnock instead. On a clear day you can see Boston- not a very good photo but if you look really, really, really closely you can see the Boston highrises on the skyline.
Looks like Mt Monadnock will be one peak in NH our dog won't get to 'bag'. Since we won't go without her- we won't be hiking it either.

...'No Dogs allowed'

Wow! I thought that kind of thinking went out with the Inquisition. I am still miffed by the 'no dogs allowed' on the beach here in Washington. Being from Hawaii, these rules against dogs still slay me.

I took a few pictures of downtown Boston too. These pictures were taken on the Chestnut Hill - Brighton line (so just on the outskirts of the city maybe 5 miles away). Anyway, I used the 55-200 for the first photo and the second one I took a little wider. Unfortunately, I don't have a circular polarizer for my 55-200. I can certainly tell the difference between that and using one on my 18-55 kit lens (second photo).

55-200 without the circular polarizer. Click for a larger shot, its better bigger.

18-55 with the circular polarizer. Again, best viewed large, click the photo for the larger size.
