OK, the Bruins looked awful.
But I was so proud to be there last night. It was so great when EVERYONE stood and cheered wildly for the Canadian anthem, and then sang with the American anthem.
I saw a man and his son in Habs jerseys waving American flags during the American anthem. It really was pretty great.
I've always felt a somewhat close affinity to Canada - growing up in New England and going to college 30 minutes from the Canadian border and being a lifelong hockey player/fanatic. So I felt particularly stung when the Habs fans booed the national anthem. Last night made me feel much better, for some reason.
I was very proud of Boston last night.
