Boston Bruins Fan with a Problem

Hi. I'm a die hard B's fan and it has been a great season for my team. But I have a problem right now. We are in the beginning stages of planning/talking about our next trip to WDW, but like Dug saying "SQUIRREL!!!", my attention keeps getting drawn back to my B's.

There is so much to look forward to. Bruins are officially a 100 point team. It's looking more and more likely that the bogus charges against Chara will go away. Going into the playoffs as the #3 seed, and as of right now going against the #6 Habs (we have season tix and opted in to the playoff package and will be spliting games with friends and family). Seeing Tim Thomas going from being the whipping boy of the media to the favorite for the Vezina and a Hart Trophy candidate. Hearing Jack Edwards burst a blood vessel every time the Bruins score a short-handed goal.

If there are any Bruins fans that share this affliction or if you are a hockey fan in general and would like to weigh in, feel free. I just ask that everyone keep it fair and respectful.

You won't have a problem much longer! If the Bruins play the Habs in round one, you can start making plans again, say 4 games in or so!

Just kidding around with you! I'm just sad because the 2 teams I follow aren't even in the playoffs. But I do stick with the Canadian teams, so I really am hoping the Habs take you guys out!

I have some die-hard Bruins fans in my family, going back to the Bobby Orr days, so I know you guys are a loyal bunch. You can always do your Disney planning in the off-days between games.

We're B's Fans in our house. Particularly my husband and daughter are. DD got tickets to five games for Christmas and we split going with her. Now she and DH are looking forward to going to the first playoff game of the first series. We have Disney in less than two weeks so a lot of exciting times to look forward to!

With the Habs, Rangers, Sabres and Canes all jockeying for 6-8, and of the 3 that will make the playoffs, all 3 could be any of 6-8, who would you most like to face? Flyers/Pens? Caps? Or B's?

The B's lost me about the time that Ray Bourque left so that he could play on a team that had a shot at winning the Cup. You knew things were bad when even Bourque didn't want to stay. Back then, management and the coaches were making decisions that I didn't like. Maybe things are better now.

1)Pens - Crosby and Malkin out. Too much to overcome
2)Flyers - Another playoff with no goalie.
3)Bruins - Better team, but Habs are in their heads.
4)Caps - Finally learning to play D. Could be their year.

I don't know about better. But over the past year and a 1/2, Jacobs Jr. has been offering over-inflated contracts. It's almost like he's spitting in his dad's eye and wants to win THE CUP just to spite his old man.

Here's the question for the Bruins fans...

Which of the teams fighting for the bottom 3 slots would you rather face in the 1st round?

Habs? Rangers? Sabres? Canes?

For me, it's the Habs. Not just for the atmosphere, but Miller and Lundqist can win a series by themselves. And the Canes are the only 1 of the 4 that can muck with the B's.

Before the Habs fans start calling 911 on me for libel, Price is an all-NHL goalie. But, if/when he gets behind, he tries to overextend himself and is often out of position because of it. I don't know if that's because it's his nature, or his lack of faith in the skaters.

The Bruins and Canadiens meet in the post season for the 33rd time in their collective histories. The NHL does not get better than having two Original 6 teams going against each other in the playoffs.

I can't wait to go to the pre-game rally on Thursday and start getting my beard going.

I grew up about 5 minutes away from Bourques house, and I use to make my father drive by there before games just so I could get pumped up a little. Trust me, he did everything he could to win a cup, it just wasn't in the cards. He didn't want to leave, but he knew he had his best shot with another team.

It is hard being a Bruins fan though, so I understand your pain. A lot of people consider this to be a hockey town, but its hard when for a long time the owners were unwilling to spend money. Im hoping they have gone in a new direction and will soon be drinking from the cup.
