Do you do anything (it's this coming Monday, BTW).

We have a very small company (10 employees). We usually do a cake or something. For some reason, since I am probably one of two women in the company, I have had two of the male employees approach me and ask "Hey are we doing anything for the boss?" (meaning, are *YOU* doing anything for the boss).

I've sweetly suggested to both of them that they were welcome to take care of it or give me a good idea. They both ran off looking chastised.

Honestly, I'm not up for this. I've got two kids that keep me running all weekend, the cakes and stuff at the stores SUCK, and I don't feel like baking on Sunday.

But, of course, I will feel like dirt come Monday when nothign is there.

Do you all do anything? Do you do anything easy?

I will give my supervisor the same disdain she gives me & my co-workers. Maybe I'll throw in an eye roll & a snotty look as she's talking to me. :thumbsup2

I'm of the opinion that every day is Boss's Day. I loathe having to do something for him.

We dont' do anything except show up for work. If we did it would have to come out of our pockets not the dept budget and he makes waaayyy more $ than we do.

An "official" day to kiss the boss's butt. Someone at Hallmark was sure bored to sell cards for that one....

Oh, I am so *with* all of you. I mean my boss is a nice enough guy, but I hate having to do anything on these "made up" days.

Unfortunately, he is kind of sentimental. One year, we didn't do something and a few weeks later he mentioned it to someone. Egos...sheesh!!

My boss never does/gives anything to me/us/staff so I won't be doing anything for him. :sad2:

I'm in a small office too (6 employees, 2 bosses). Our bosses are really good to us, so we're having lunch catered for them on Monday. Last year we got them each a gift card to one of their favorite stores.

Wow, I feel really bad that you don't have a better relationship with your bosses. :guilty: The staff here asked if they could pay to bring in a special catered lunch for the entire office Monday (we have a free catered lunch every day that I needed to cancel for them to do this) and many of the employees from my former firm are taking me out to lunch today.

Most of us really like the boss here. We have one or two employees who aren't too "rosy" about him. But overall he's been very good to me.

I guess my resentment lies in that NONE of them would ever dream of putting an effort into it. They always come to me with the suggestion of needing it done, but they don't want to bake or spend one of their precious weekend days scouting out a treat and a card.

Anyway, I held my ground and it appears that one of the "guys" will be bringing in some coffee cake.

Going out to lunch would be nice but we are working in an area of rejuvination and we have no food establishments except Subway.

All my boss and the other manager in the department deserve is what I pick out of my cats litter box....actually they don't even deserve that. They are two of the most overpaid people who do nothing but chat personally with their favorites 7 out of 8 hours of the work day(that is if they are here that many hours a day of course).

I actually would like to second what sugarpie is giving her boss..

WOW...that is sad the relationship that alot of you guys have with your boss. I have been pretty lucky in the boss department. I even married one of them, he was just too nice a guy to pass up. My hubbys employees always give him something for bosses day, I think last year they gave him some bourbon. Just something that they had collected and bought as a group.

We are both nurses and have known this group for at least 10 years. They come to BBQ and pool parties in the summer. Most of them are around the same age as us. he is very lucky to have such great employees. We always buy each one a small gift when we go on vacation and at christmas. I always send in cupcakes, brownies, candy, ect..several times a month.
