At my first job when I moved to Las Vegas, one sales rep would ALWAYS be at her assistant's desk - going through her drawers, moving papers around, taking files then putting them back. We figured she did this to "check" on her assistant to see how far along her contracts were, etc. - just no confidence that anyone was good enough to do HER work.
About a year later, our department worked out of about 10 hotel rooms until new office space was ready. Two months later I was asked to work with this micro managing sales rep. For her to come to my desk, she had to leave the room she worked in, walk down the hall the length of four hotel rooms, and come into the room where the assistants worked. She did this exactly twice - come to my desk, open a drawer at MY desk and ask me if I needed anything. I just looked at her both times and said NO.
