Borrowitis

I borrowed from next year just so I could bank this years if need be... I know this makes no sense it did at the time to both me and my MS person - I just have to go back and figure out why I did it this way

Anyway - it puts me with a mere 75 points to use next year and I want to get 2 weeks of trips out of it. My plan - keep borrowing until there's nothing left and then rent/transfer some in and start working off those.

I thought I had points to borrow but I don't. I called a few weeks ago to add BLT to my waitlist. They told me I couldn't because I only had 5 left. I can't make anymore reservations until after August. I don't need to make any more for this year but just knowing that I can't kills me.

We recently added on an additional 50 points. Since I had already borrowed some of our 2010 pts (Aug use year) I was told buyin more points was the one time you are allowed to UN-Borrow them. I thought that we had borrowed 64 and that by putting 50 back we would only have 14 borrowed. The CM who fixed me up said I now had 50 Boardwalk (our new ones) and 135 at OKW remaining for 2010. And I said - and all of our Saratoga ones, right? She got real quiet and said - "uh, no - those have all been borrowed - you will just have the 185" We ideally go on vacation in Sept, but have gone in August the last 2 years. Since that is our use year we have always had "new" points to work with. This year we are going in June. So basically we are using the same points that we would have used had we gone at our regular time - we are just going a couple months earlier. I was panicking - thinking we were gonna run out.

I didn't buy as many points as I needed..with three kids/spouses/8 grandkids, plus wanting to take a just my DH and I only trip now and again, I don't have near enough points. I THINK I could get by with a 75 point add on...but that isn't happening right now. I can ctually see that maybe we'll own at VGC, walk right by, head off site and stay at the Candy Cane to 'catch up'. Maybe not..I'll probably justify using what I'd spend at the Candy Cane to put a down on those 75 points.....

The dvc member's website is great for keeping track of points this way so I'm not caught offguard. I'm not so sure the numbers used on reservations are correct (for example our last trip was 155 pts, and the site is showing it was 165) but the totals seem to be correct and that's what I run off of.

I had borrowitis and I cured it with somem addonitis only to realize that I had a relapse and now have borrowitis again. Since the Chief of staff Aka DW has told me that since the first cure didnt work I would have just have to live with my condition I guess Im doomed to borrowitis. Oh well maybe someday there will be a cure.
