Borrowing points

If I borrow points from 2012 and have to cancel the reservation, what happens to the points? I've never borrowed points and can't remember what happens to the points? Thanks

Once you've moved points by borrowing from 2012 to 2011, they are stuck in 2011 and must be used before the end of your 2011 UY. You can't move them back to 2012. The Vacation Planner also says that borrowed points can not be banked or transferred to another user.
