New DVC member, basic question: how many years ahead can I borrow points from? I think you can only borrow one year ahead...but I am not 100% sure.

Thanks for the help!

That is correct.

You can use as many as 3 years worth of points at a time (not counting crossing 2 use years on one trip - let's not even go there!).

Normally you can use your current year points, banked points from the previous year, and borrowed points from the following year.

And just as an FYI, once borrowed, they cannot be returned to their original UY. In case of a cancellation, you have to use them by the end of whatever UY you borrowed them into, or you will lose them. Hope that makes sense.

And, to add, you can only borrow what you need to complete a reservation that you are making at that time.

Eveything is based on the UY you will be traveling and not the UY you are in when calling.

For example, I have a June UY. When I call in Sept 2011 to book my August 2012 trip, I will be able to borrow 2013 UY points because my trip takes place during my 2012 UY.

And if your trip requires that you borrow all points from upcoming UY but you still needed some extra points to complete your plans you can purchase up to 24 points (1 time purchase per UY travel takes place in) through MS (at $15 per pt) but booking with those 24 points can only be done at 7 month window or less even if you plan to combine them with some of your own points.

:)
