Another new owner question. I think I figured out banking points. I just have a (hopefully) easy question about borrowing your points for the following year. We are looking at a vacation in late october of 2010. We own at BLT. My thought is to book a 2 bedroom at BLTat our 11 month window. For that we need to borrow about 132 points. Then at the 7 month window I want to try for a 2 bedroom at BWV instead of our stay at BLT. Since the points at BWV are a lot less, I won't need to borrow as many points.

So, my question is.. When do the borrowed points get applied? if I borrow the points to book at BLT, then change to BWV do the extra points stay in that year?

Hopefully my question makes sense.

Thanks
Ty

Member Services (MS) will borrow the points for you at the time of the reservation if you are short and need them to complete the reservation. They ask permission first and also tell you that you cannot un-borrow your points. That is, you cannot return borrowed points back into their original use year (UY).

yep - the borrowed pts will remain in the current year. you would need to make sure MS applied the borrowed pts to your reservation at BWV first, and then you'd have to bank the current year pts into the next UY (assuming you are still within your banking window.)

otherwise the pts you borrowed would expire at the end of the current UY.
