I don't have my guidebook here at work, but was hoping someone might be able to help. We purchased BCV and banked all of our 2002 points at the time (Feb. use year). But, of course, now our plans have changed and we want to take a vacation in 2002. We know we would have to borrow our 2003 points to do so. My question is can I do this now and make the reservation, or do I have to wait until we close on our contract?

Thanks!

Tara

Some have reported success at borrowing by getting special permission through their guide. Otherwise you will have to wait until June 2 or so, when you close to do so.

is that nothing can be *officially* banked for BCV until the deeds get recorded, and supposedly that won't be until the first week of June. So what my guide was doing for me was putting in a *request* with the banking people to bank my points once that happens. I guess all I'm trying to say is to call your guide - your points may not be *technically* banked yet - you may be able to pull an Emily Litella on them... "Never Mind"... :D

I'd have to agree with what Jonhm said, that your points can't be banked until you officially close on June 2nd. You filled out a request that as soon as you close, to bank all your available points. Since you haven't closed, those points should still be available for your use. I'd give a quick call to your guide to see if that's the case. My guess is that is what's going on, and if you call and say you want to use X amount of points and bank the remaining, you could make that change, since closing hasn't yet occured.

I think that this is correct. I just called my guide to add 100 points, because we were borrowing points this year, and wanted more before the incentive ends. When I told him I wanted to bank the new points to make up for borrowing from 2003, he told me that he can put something in to "un-bank" those points.

The very same thing happened to me. I originally told my guide ( back in 1996) to bank our points and then later called back and told her we had changed our minds. This should be no problem if you have not had closing yet.

Just an update, I called my guide and this is totally doable. My guide told me to just go ahead and call MS and make the reservation, then when my banking paperwork goes through, they will see that I only have 100 points left and will just automatically bank those. My wonderful guide even connected me directly to MS, so I didn't have to call back. I am so excited!!!
