Borrowing/Banking question

I have a Sept UY, banking deadline is April. My next big family trip is hopefully June 2020. This July, I was hoping to make the reservation utilizing my 11 month window at BLT. Now, our dates aren't certain but I know I want to book early so that I can have the most options at BLT. However, pretty sure I will need to borrow points from Sept 2020 UY to complete that reservation.

Now, let's say by November or January, we've finalized our plans and now I need to drop a date off of my reservation, freeing up some points. Am I able to bank that for the following year? Per DVC website:

If you cancel a reservation containing borrowed Vacation Points and don’t use them before the end of that Use Year they have been borrowed into, they expire. They cannot be returned to their original Use Year.

But, presumably, some of the points I've used will be from Sept 2019 UY, which should be eligible for banking, correct? If I call MS, will they be able to do that for me because they can distinguish between current year and borrowed points from next year?

Hope that makes sense.

The banked points will be used first and any current year points should be released when you trim down the reservation. Those current year points will be eligible for banking.

Perfect - thanks.
