Borrowed points-now adding on- help

We borrowed points from 2004 for a cruise on points we are taking in 2003. We are going to add on now.

Question: If we bank the new points for this year, we must use them next year. We already borrowed for our trip next year. Will they unborrow the points, or will we have to use our new points somehow next year?

Once borrowed, vacation points cannot be returned to their original use year and will expire if not used by the end of the current year.

So I beleive you will need to take another vacation - or depending on the addon - could you bank points from them ? If not maybe you can rent out your new points on the RENT/TRADE board.

I am not an expert so I hope someone with more experience chimes in to correct me or add more info. But if it were me I would force myself to take another vacation

Borrowed points cannot be returned, and banked points must be used in the year into which they were banked.

On the other hand, talk to your vacation guide. Sometimes they can work a little 'magic' for things like this. I would hope with a new purchase they might be able to give you a little latitude.

you could always try to add on a week at Vero, or spend some time in WDW before or after the cruise. We will be doing this in 2004.

Even if they could unborrow the points you could not use them for a DVC reservation. You borrowed points for a cruise. These points are now considered "reservation" points and not "vacation" points.
