Sorry, but they aren't. They see Jesus as a Prophit, we see him as the Son of God (one of the three members of the trinity, and therefore God himself). We beleive Jesus died on the cross for our sins and was resurrected 3 days later. They beleive Jesus escaped death on the cross and did not die for our sins.auntpolly said:For them he is a very holy prophet. We say "son of God" - what does that mean anyway? He's not a son in the same sense that we are.
I think sometimes we are really saying much the same thing but using different words.
In short, while both faiths call him the Messiah, they seem him as a great teacher and prophit who will return at the end of the world. We see him as the sacrificial Lamb of God who came to die for our sins. We are not saying the same thing at all.
I am not saying we should not respect Islam, but respect does not mean agree with, and the 2 faiths are very different regarding their beleive's in Jesus.
