Hi folks :wave2:
I thought I'd stop by and update you all on our situation.
My uncle has been transferred hospitals in order to get dialysis. The dr. said he is on his way to recovery, which is a relief after being in ICU for a week and a half.
My friend Julie is still in a lot of pain. She said her body still hurts but when I heard her, I told her she sounded better. She said she's in a better mindset now, which is so important. Please continue to pray for her as she battles this disease.
My MIL will be having her CAT scan done the beginning of Dec. We're hoping her cancer isn't growing fast. My dh is having a real hard time understanding why she was waiting. He's pretty much angry, but accepts that it is her and her doctor's decision.
Thank you for all of the prayers. They are so very much appreciated. :grouphug:
We're going on the family tour (4 hrs to my mom's Thursday, then Friday, 4 hrs to MIL's, then the Saturday, 2 hrs home) for Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a very blessed Thanksgiving!
May we always remember to thank God for everything He gives us!

With so many of our believers being hit by health, financial, and others problems; I would like to offer the following prayer for all of you. I pray that the grace of God will heal all your hurts; the strength of God will give you courage to face the work befioe you; that the power of God will prepare your way; and that the peace of God will keep you secure and steady in Jesus Christ. A Blessed and Happy thanksgiving to all of you!

gr8ful4Him, thanks for the updates, will continue to pray,
please have a safe & blessed Thanksgiving.

Grandma Bear, you are a tremendous blessing here!

I have a prayer request, as well.
Yesterday morning, my sister's husband passed away from cancer.
He went much sooner than anyone expected, they had just
started Hospice at home 5 days before - he scrubbed the kitchen floor
on Saturday, and did yard work on Sunday!
Yet, when he woke yesterday morning no one, not even the
visiting nurse there at home with them, anticipated his death before noon.
Of course I pray and ask for prayer for my sister.
But, we did not know this man,
as my sister tends to keep everyone in her life at arm's length,
and they had only been married since February of this year.
They have a beautiful son, Mike, who will turn 3 in less than 2 weeks.
We have only seen him once, and only received pictures during
his first year (we meaning myself and our mother).
Mike and his dad were extremely close, as even through his
dad's chemo treatments for 2 years his dad raised him,
doing everything for him that my sister wouldn't (long story there).
Mike spent every moment with his dad, and they had a game
they played where Mike would say, "Where'd he go?"
Well, Mike witnessed his dad's death yesterday morning,
(it was just my sister, Mike, and the nurse) and when his dad
took his last breath Mike crawled up onto his lap, touching him,
and said, "Where'd he go?"
I spent a lot of time crying over this little guy last night,
imagining him waking up this morning and asking for his dad,
wondering why his entire routine is now non-existent.
I have prayed for him since the day he was born, and will never stop.
Please pray that the Lord would give my sister love for her son;
please pray that this precious little soul will not be emotionally abandoned
to process this death on his own;
please pray for his safety and that he would know the presence
of Jesus each day, holding him and nurturing him to compensate
for my sister's emotional distance.

We're not sure if his dad knew the Lord, or not.
It did not seem that he did, however he did show an interest
in some conversations he had with a Calvary Chapel pastor.
My sister was a "Jesus Freak" of the 70's, but has not shown fruit,
we really don't know what to think of her relationship, if any, with Christ.

Sorry this is so long, my heart is completely broken for little Mikey...

eta: My sister lives 3,000 miles away from us, and she only
contacts our mother maybe 3 times a year.
Otherwise, I would have been loving little Mikey like nobody's
business if they lived closer!

Luvthat duck your family is in my prayers :grouphug: I especially pray for this child whose whole world has been shaken up. May the peace of God surround
and cover this child and may God drawn this family nearer to Him now in this time of need.

Grandma Bear Thank you for being such a blessing here.

luvthatduke, I pray for your entire family, that somehow through this traumatic event, your family will grow closer, and you will get the opportunity to show young Mikey the Love of Jesus Christ. I also pray that your sister will open up her heart and emotions to help this young child through this very difficult time.

Just read this:

Christian Musician In Coma After Road-Rage Beating
November 23, 2005

NEW YORK -- A Christian musician remains hospitalized in a medically-induced coma after being attacked in a road-rage incident in New York City.

Johnny Philippidis, of the duo Burlap to Cashmere, suffered severe facial fractures when he was beaten by another motorist after their vehicles collided last week.

Philippidis' sister Nicole said her brother's "face is split in half," but his condition is stable and the family is trusting God to save his life.

Police have questioned a 25-year-old airport security guard who fled the scene of the accident.

luvthatduke, I am lifting Mikey up to the Lord right now. God knows every need, from the little ones to the big ones, that he has. I will pray that Mikey will feel the presence of God so strongly as he faces the difficult days ahead. I will also pray for your sister's emotional healing and that God will move her to step up to the plate. I am so sorry for your loss.

Thank you all SO MUCH!
I hope that you all enjoyed a blessed Thanksgiving :goodvibes .

Hi Everyone.
I hope your Thanksgivings were truly blessed! We travelled 550 miles to visit both sides of the family...didn't make much for visiting time, but it was good to see them all. Something about being a pastoral family and having to be back for Sunday morning... :confused3 ;)
Anyways, I wanted to ask for continued prayers for my uncle Joe. Seems like every time the dr. says he's on the way to recovery, something else happens to him. They had to drain infection away from his pancreas area and also had to drain his lungs. Not sure what's going on there, but he's been in the hospital for close to a month now :worried:
Take care and may God's richest blessings be upon you all!

Hey friends,
We are off to Disneyland tomorrow!
While you are saying your prayers, if you could think of us that would be awesome!
We all have colds and my dd10 has an ear infection--not good with flying!
Prayers for safety, health and family fun would be much appreciated!
Thank you!
:goodvibes

Hope everyone had a pleasant Thanksgiving, ours was quiet but nice.
Prayers on the way for everyone...
Thanks so much for your prayers for my DSis and Mikey.
DSis is not doing well, and little Mikey is doing much worse.
It is so sad.
He turns around all the time, thinking he heard his dad.
And he goes and sits where he used to with his dad while
they watched their TV shows (his dad couldn't do much most days
because of the cancer), and sometimes he piles his blankies
in the space his dad used to sit in.
They live in N. California and it's begun to snow heavily there today,
so the 2 of them are trapped inside.
When DSis put on her boots to go out to get the mail,
Mikey got extremely distraught thinking they were going to
go get his Daddy at chemo and finding out they weren't.
I can't imagine how confused and sad that little boy must be...

I am sorry. :grouphug: This just made me cry, they will continue to be in my prayers, as will you.

How difficult that musst be for the little one. God's blessings on him and his family.

Deb, I’m sorry that your uncle Joe is having some setbacks. My prayers remain with him.

Albertan Mom, enjoy your trip to Disneyland! I’ve never been there, but I want to go. I think it would be really neat to see Walt’s original park. I’ve heard they offer a “Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” tour that I would love to go on. Prayers for health, safety, and fun are on the way!

lovethatduke, the situation with your sister and Mikey is just heartbreaking. May God comfort them and make them both feel His presence supporting them. May He hold little Mikey’s hand and become his Heavenly Father in a very real sense to the little guy.
