You're welcome hokie.

If it will make you feel better and help bring some happiness in your otherwise joyless life to believe I am Hokie then be my guest.

I look forward to more of your insightful posts.

2gether, thank you for the post. I too was disturbed with some of the posts here yesterday. Thank you for bringing it all back into perspective.
We've had a rough couple of weeks around here...
My mother in law's cancer is no longer in remission. They'll be doing another CAT scan in a few weeks to see how fast it's growing. Doc doesn't think it's growing that fast because of her blood levels, but none the less, it's growing....
My uncle went to the hospital to have a tumor removed and has quite a bit of complications. the first was a blood clot that made it's way down to his intestines and had everything blocked up. And now he has an infections but they don't know where it is...he's been in ICU for over a week...
And a good friend of mine is now struggling with cancer again. She is on radiation every day and they also put her on chemo once a week. They have her on steriods to help her breathe. She is in a lot of pain, so they've also given her pain killers. She's also on sleeping pills...
Needless to say, I'm a "little on the edge" lately. I know that it isn't fair to the rest of my family that I have been this way...and so I pray and just put it all into God's hands...

Just wanted to say how sorry I am that there are so many of your family going through such physical struggles right now. This must be a very stressful time for you. Prayers for you and your family.

Wow you have a lot on your plate. I know how difficult it is to turn things over to God (and not take them back). Hang in there!

Deb, I just got caught up.
Wow, so much for you and your family right now!
Hold tight to Jesus, let Him hold you back...
Many prayers for you, I'm sure - hang in there!

Just wonderinf if the program you mentioned was about a rail car that students had filled with paper clips? If yes, that is right near where I live at Whitwell High School. Would like to see it, do you remember what channel it was on?

It was on PBS....it was a really amazing 2 hour special, and yes, it was about those kids. Great show.

Gr8ful: we'll be praying for your family. Sounds like a rough time.

Gr8ful hang in there! You serve an awesome God who still heals, saves and delivers. My son in law came through two major surgeries in six months that the doctors were amazed at. :grouphug: I will keep you in my prayers.

Thank you all for the prayers. They are greatly appreciated.
I will let you know more as it all happens.

Hey guys,
I have not posted a lot on here lately. Stopped reading for a bit awhile back as there was too much debate and it got on my nerves. I see it is still going on here and there, but I am back anyway.

I have something to ask opinions on. DH and I are pretty involved in our church. He is an integral part of the music team, so much so that we basically have decided the only way we can leave our church is if we move. Far away. Like FL. The problem I am having is that I strongly dislike the Christmas service every year. It is always a drama that basically tells the story of Christ's birth in a way to appeal to unbelievers. The whole focus of the service is telling people about the meaning of Christmas which in some ways is good but it truly is not aimed at believers at all. There is no real worship going on it seems. Easter is the same way. Now, this year, DH is playing at all 3 Chrismas Eve services and DD is in the drama, so not much we can do, but next year, I am seriously looking at going to another church in the area for Christmas eve. Probably the Catholic church as that is how I grew up.

So, I have a double question. Has anyone ever left a church they were really involved in? AND what do you think of my Chirstmas plan or do you have any better ideas for me?

Deb, I am so sorry you’re having to deal with so much right now. I will lift you up in prayer—may the Lord give you the strength and peace you need in the difficult days ahead.

Julie, we left a church we were very involved in, but it was due to a very serious issue. The best advise I can give you is to tell the Lord your concerns about your current church. Ask for His guidance in where the best place for you and your family is. Does your family feel similarly to you? I’m sorry that they do not currently have a worship focus. Perhaps you could get on the committee that selects the programs for Christmas and Easter.

I want to thank you for all of your prayers. :grouphug:
I talked to my mom last night and she said my uncle Joe has rounded the corner and is now doing some better. They had put him on a respirator last week because he stopped breathing. A few days later, they put a tracheotomy (sp?) in to help in draining fluid from his lungs. Turns out that as the dr. was putting that in, he noticed a small tear in his esophogus...and that's why his lungs were filling with fluid. Dr. repaired that and my mom said he was doing a lot better on Sunday than he has been. Please keep him and his wife, Patty in prayer though. Patty's mom passed away this weekend. :(

Glad to hear he is improving! I will continue to hold you up in prayer.
Remember we serve a mighty and awesome God. Nothing is impossible for Him! :grouphug:

Deb--glad to hear your uncle is doing better and that they were able to deal with one of the problems.

Elisabeth, yes we are in prayer about it. Thankyou for your words. Unfortunately being on the planning team is not really an option as it's pretty much the staff and staff alone who decide--not real open there. Anyway, we are comitted to staying for the time and will see where God leads us.

My prayers continue for Joe and Patty. This is a lot to deal with right now. I will pray that God will comfort them and hold them close.

Dear friends, I come to you today asking for prayer......again. All the things that have happened over the past month are really taking a toll on me (wreck and everything surrounding that situation, transportation problems etc.) and I am having a very hard time giving this to God and allowing Him to work it out. It's causing a lot of stress in my life and when I'm stressed, I'm not fun to be around :guilty: tends to make me get angry very easily. I'm really an emotional basket case right now and can't seem to focus on anything other than fixing this problem with the car. Would appreciate your prayers.

TIA
Cristy

Cristy,
I can so relate to this. I have a very difficult time giving things over to God. And yes I stress and become a not-so-nice person. In fact I am dealing with some things now that I am holding steadfastly on to.

 for you. I will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks Miss Jasmine and  back to you too! Prayers that things get better for you as well!

Cristy, I’m sorry you’ve got so much on your plate right now.

I too have been there, as I tend to have a hard time trusting God with the day-to-day things. I always laugh at myself that I completely trust Him with my eternal salvation, but handling my job situation (for example), I have a hard time giving over to Him. I will pray that He will make His plan known to you and will give you the faith and strength you need to do it as well as the peace of knowing that it is indeed His plan.

Hugs and prayers for all requests!
Blessings to my friends here...

God's riches blessings upon you all. All these attacks on believers just emphasizes the enemy knows how short his time really is. We must continue to strenghten one another. In every situation there is a lesson to be learned;but God will not fail us or allow us to be hurt or injured. :grouphug:
